A mate of mine sent off for an Insect exterminator, 100% guaranteed.
He received 2 blocks of wood - one marked A, the other B.

The instructions read:-

1. Place offending insect on block marked A.
2. Bring block marked B down heavily on top of block marked A.

I am preparing for a 3 week trip to Europe. It will include a 10-day river cruise (Basel to Amsterdam). Judging from my past experience, I will take between 500 and 750 photos. I use a D750 which will allow up to 292 RAW, lossless, 14 bit compressed photos per 16GB sd card. My question is: Is it better to take more 16GB cards, thus minimizing loss of photos if a card is lost or malfunctions; or to take fewer but larger capacity cards?

Any advice out there?

Don't worry about not bringing enough - we sell them over here as well.

Check your local community college for photography classes and stay tuned in to UGG. You might check for a photo club meeting near you. There are also many very good books available to help you get started.

Googled UGG and all I found were a load of Boots!

After the Manchester Arena bombing at the Ariana Grande concert last year, I would not even think of approaching security with anything concealed on me.
You might not only be thrown out but your equipment might be confiscated as you did try to smuggle it in.

I don't use 3D often as it takes ages to render the image when I'm finished (processor too slow).
I think you might have to change the image to 8 bits to get it to work the way you want it.

Thanks Mark.
A mate I drank with's plane was shot down and he was taken Prisoner Of War. He was held at Belsen, shown being burned in picture 24.
No matter how drunk he got, he would never talk about it. The only reference he ever made was when I was taking a First Aid course and he said "Alan, just remember, if things get bad; whatever you see - I've seen worse".

Bruce, I would keep the last version (2017) as it contains all your plug ins, brushes, actions, etc and other information that you copied and pasted into the new version when you installed it.
I had an issue with PS a while ago and Adobe advised an uninstall & reinstall to solve the problem (can't remember what it was). If 2017 had not been there I would have had a hell of a job.
You can safely delete the rest.

What am I doing wrong? My workflow is to keep my images on the card for backup (at least while in the field) but to import them to my Mac / Lightroom CC each night. I select "New" images in the importer, and check the box for "Don't import suspected duplicates".

Lightroom fails to recognize that it has already loaded most of the images on the card, and I am forced to manually choose the ones I want to import, or get an additional copy each time. I say "most", because occasionally, it *does* notice a handful of images, and omits them from the import. I worry that it's so flaky at this that it may inadvertently skip some that are actually new. I get this problem with every camera I have tried (Sony, Nikon, Canon, IPhone, etc.), and whether I put the card in a reader, or whether I connect the camera via USB.

My bet is that Blackest has gave you the answer. If you cull your files and delete the ones you don't want or are unusable (ie, motion blur, out of focus etc), they are still on your card but not in Lighrooms registry.
Lightroom will import them again as new files as you have removed them. You would have to delete the culled files from your memory card as well.

Well done, especially on the reflection Manglesphoto.
Have tried a few myself, at weddings, and they are not as easy as they seem. Excellent High Key exposure with everything in focus and no light reflected from the mirror.
