Found this amorous couple on my car side glass yesterday. Anybody know what they are? Combined length was about 1.25 to 1.5 inches.

So, this emulates the game in the Harry Potter series where everyone is on flying broomsticks? Prolly a lot of fun if you’re a young whippersnapper. Not so much at 80.
As a child I rode my stick horse everywhere so might have done ok then. Sheesh, that was 70 years ago.

I just got back from having my State Safety Inspection: Miles driven since last inspection 2 yrs ago 2000+ mileage on car 268107, 99 Explorer Passed but they said it has a rear axel seal just starting to leak, rear main seal the same and a torn front axel boot which I knew about. I'll check them myself tomorrow to see how bad they are. Will repair as I feel needed.

The torn axle boot is the one you need to jump on immediately. It’ll fling out all the grease from your CV joint and it’ll be ruined in no time. Then you’ll have a MUCH higher repair bill.

Thought I remembered that correctly - but I had no idea it was for the poison in the plant!

Isn’t it the Monarch that requires milkweed as a food source? Used to see those all over the place in rural pastures but we all know suburban expansion has obliterated a ton of those.

Great shots, but I’m not seeing anything except a normal walnut shell. No gnaw marks to speak of. If anyone is thinking the two symmetrical cavities were produced by a squirrel, it just ain’t so. Think of what a walnut looks like as you start to pop it in your mouth - that convoluted shape was enclosed in the shell, which acted as the basic mold determining that weird shape. What we have in these photos are sections of that natural mold.

Thank you very much for looking in Ron and you are probably right about the machinery but i have found some info for you.Rapeseed is primarily grown for its oil. A big challenge to profitable rapeseed production is the limited use and market for the meal remaining after oil processing. In some areas, rapeseed, which contains more than 40 percent oil, becomes more profitable than soybeans, which contain 18 percent oil. Rapeseed is also beneficial as a cover crop and for annual forage. It provides good soil cover over winter to prevent soil erosion, produces large amounts of biomass, suppresses weeds, and can improve soil tilth with its root system.

Some cultivars of summer annual rape are used for grazing. They are especially useful for finishing lambs, flushing ewes, for dairy cows and pastured sows Forage rape is ready to graze 80 to 90 days after planting. Winter rapeseed types can also be grazed by livestock during the fall growth period.Hope this helps.Jim

Indeed! Sounds like a super plant to me. What is the oil used for? I’m assuming we’re talking nutritional purposes.

Actually, I believe that’s a liquid fertilizer spreader. No way something like that could carry enough water to act as an efficient irrigation unit. It does “sprinkle” tho’ so you’re correct in that respect.

I’m unfamiliar with the crop rape seed. What is it used for? Sure makes a beautiful field. Very nice, appealing photos.

I’m pretty sure in the past I’ve been able to see the forms before completing and printing. But, I really wasn’t interested enough to do much checking and certainly wouldn’t swear I did see them. To me the whole mess is just something to get through every year and TT works great for me. Been using it at least 20 years. Back when life was simpler and I did ours by hand I actually knew what I was doing, or thought I did. Now, I just fill in the blanks TT asks for, let it check for mistakes, correct those, and send ‘er off. And be glad it’s over for another year.

Think I see a litter brama in those ears. And I think F1 is short for First Fileal generation (but that goes back almost 60 years in my education so, y’know, I could be wrong).

But the guy in the red circle moved to the 7th in from the left. He didn't disappear.

I said “here’s my thoughts” - never said they were correct thoughts. 😁

Actually, all I was trying to point out was that the lower drawing seems to be the original as the top ones little guys look pretty hacked in spots. If so, then it becomes more a matter of where is the new 15th guy instead of which one disappeared. Oh, and I’d already identified where the circled kneeless guy came from. I only circled him to ask if he was a legimate #15 if he wasn’t a complete body.

Yeah, I know - I’m just confusing the issue. I’ll be interested in what the OP says is the answer.

Here’s my thoughts -

The bottom drawing has to be the original, and it has only 14 little guys. Making the two cuts and switching places with the top pieces seems to create a 15th leprechaun on the top right, but he’s missing his knees. All other bodies substitute nicely in their new places. The guy with the missing knees was top center and now is top right.

So, the real question is, doe he still count as he’s not quite all there?

Ron

First pic is when I was trying to find where everyone’s top half went. Second is apparent “15th” guy with no knees.
