Ya done well Photolady. I'm surprised at the lack of snow for the end of December. I appreciate the share. John

Olympus 14-150 II, and make sure it’s the II version, not the cheaper earlier version. I have this lens and am passionate about it! It’s my favorite walk around lens, it’s waterproof, and the image quality is great. I have it paired with the Oly e-m5 Mark II which, like your camera, is also weatherproof. The range it offers means you don’t have to carry a whole lot of other gear and I can hang it around my neck all day with no pain, actually I wear it cross body, same dif. How weatherproof? Niagara Falls Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds weatherproof! I went to a Tamron workshop and tried their version and didn’t like it.

I agree, 100%. Oly 14-150 II is the best of the best, and is my all purpose carry lens. It offers very nearly the same practical quality of image, IMHO, as does the Oly Pro 12-40 f2.8 or the 40-150 f2.8. I have and use all three. John

And last but not least, just let good wife race on ahead while you stop to compose and shoot. Eventually she'll realize that you are missing and then will stop and wait, or perhaps come back to see if you are still alive.

Thanks Graham. I'm in the second to last age group and I laughed 'til I cried as I read it to my wife--we both loved it. John

Has anyone dealt with MPB.com?
The idea of sending my gear away without a receipt, kinda freaks me out

Have no fears, Nick. I just sent off my seldom used Canon 60d and the whole process to receiving payment went without a hitch--Good folks to deal with and also offer fair prices both buying and selling. John (edit) And incidentally they are one of the few internet companies that still do not charge mail order sails tax.

Nice photos, and I agree. I believe that the Badlands is one of the less visited National Parks in the country, and it is a truly beautiful and quite accessible place. John

Jim, I am fairly sure that the responses that you get will confirm what you stated quite well. But a caveat is in order here; many of the folks here seem to be getting older and maybe a bit more opinionated than they realize..or not. But I do agree with what you say and spend much less time on UHH than I did previously, instead choosing to visit the various micro 4/3 sites where the aforementioned attitudes are much less rampant, and civil discourse is the norm. On one site the snarkyness is increasing, and the admin. is putting a clamp on it..so what we see here is not singular. I suppose I will be flamed just as you surely will, but so be it, because I have broad shoulders and have learned to just not respond to snarky. John

Interesting to note that your beautiful shot was accomplished with a Panasonic M 4/3 format camera. This photo alone, and all of the many kudos, should put to rest any of the M 4/3 detractors, or others who have questions as to it's potential in the hands of an expert. Good on ya. John

Quote--Coal industries will go away. Gasoline/oil companies will go away. Drilling for oil will stop. So say goodbye to OPEC!

I've read this before; nice idea, but have never seen the answer as to how on-board electric storage will power long distance airplanes, or truck and rail freight. Electric locomotives from the early to mid 20th century were made obsolete as being too expensive, and high maintenance.

What a joy to look at your beautiful images. My wife and I visited in Oregon a couple of years ago in the spring. Your images were quite a memory trip for us and reminded us of the wonderful time we had while visiting and shooting photos along the coast. That is one of the great things about photos, after repeated viewings from a picture album, it is so much easier to return to the site in one's mind, thus our great enjoyment of your images. Thanks so much. John

The No.7 Black and Red engine in your earlier post, is no longer in service and sits on a display track. I was there in 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed the train ride behind one of the former Weyerhauser 2-6-6-2 tank engines.

These are real nice shots, great job. Looks like some of these were taken from another plane. Like the last one taken from above while in flight. I can't understand why it has the "Memphis Belle" markings though. Anyway...lovely photos, thanks for sharing.

Go to site http://www.sallyb.org.uk/warbirds.htm for a full explanation for the nose art markings. The Sally B was repainted as the Memphis Belle for the 1990 movie of the same name and was left with the Belle nose art to assist in fundraising efforts for Sally. So it would seem that there now exists two B-17's with the Belle nose art, but with differing tail numbers. The full story is well worth the read.
