As for the ads, I use AdBlocker, so I see no ads. The link I had with that article had 14 ads that were being blocked.

I never ever had to utilize a camera warranty or anything related to it.

Until

I upgraded to my Canon 70D. I thought that the pictures were a little soft. I sent it in for warranty repair. Canon said it was maladjusted from the factory and fixed it.

Tamron. Again with the 70D. The lens needed an upgrade to work with the 70D. Tamron upgraded it with no charge.

When I first received my 70D I thought that the images were a little soft. I wound up sending the Camera back to Canon who fixed it really fast, no charge. Apparently it was just a factory adjustment problem.

I have had 0 problems with video. In fact the videos I have taken have been outstanding.

I was in that position two years ago for a trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. I got a little netbook, Asus, I think. It has USB ports and a decent-sized hard drive, but it was small, light, and cheap. I also brought a small external hard drive. When I got home, I had hundreds of pictures in three places: SD cards, a hard drive, and a computer.

I also picked up an ASUS T100. It's a 10 in 32x computer running windows. Small, light and long battery life at ~10 hrs. I have loaded the win 10 tech preview on it and it works great. You can attach anything you want to it including external hubs, hds, usbs etc.

Just one more comment.

If you are already are working with Photoshop or something similar than you are already familiar with masks and layers. If so, you are pretty much ready to start with some interesting effects.

Otherwise as some have said you may have a learning curve.

I've used quite a few slideshow packages over the years and NONE even come close to slideshow Gold or Pro. I started with Gold then upgraded a year later to Pro and never looked back.

All those I have shown have echoed also my feelings. You can't go wrong with Gold or Pro.

Take note of all the suggestions. They are all great. But here is the drill.

Amsterdam, one of my favorite cities. Start at the train station and walk toward the Dam(Dam Square, De Dam.)
Every 20-25 feet stop there will be something to take a picture of. You may have to make it 10 at times. At the Dam go right and walk the street all the way around.

Wonderful museums and other major and minor points of interest.

On the Boat get to the top and every 10 minutes or so there will be something to take a picture of. Grapes, Chateaus, Castles etc. etc etc.

You will never ever have a problem finding photo ops.

Bring +SD cards.

These posts prompted me to look around out of curiosity. While I was looking I came upon Capture One Pro 8 which looks really interesting but complicated. Has any one had any experience with this application?

I am a LR5 & CS6 user.

Searcher is the most accurate relative to London. Be Prepared. The weather there is extremely unpredictable. I've been there in June and encountered very cold wet weather.

Otherwise there is a tremendous amount to see. Consider Westminster Abby(they used to allow visitors to take pictures in the evening one or more nights a month you need to check), Buckingham Palace w/the changing of the guard and The Tower of London. The theater district can give you more high quality shows than you can handle some playing in the same theater for over 20 years.

The tour/cruise from London to Greenwich is nice also. The parks are beautiful and you can limit your walking to preference.

Don't miss the hop on hop off buses they are worth every penny.

There are many, many more places that are too many to list. Look at Trip Adviser they normally have pictures and reviews.

For outside London many of the other posts are good ones. Stonehenge is worthless to go so far for so little.

So many good photo ops take extra cards.

This give a pretty good description of causes and solutions.

I agree, Eneloops are great batteries.

Yep Eneloops technology is the best out there. They can hold a charge for several years and give you several thousand recharges.

Generally it the rechargeable does not give you the mAh s on the package don't buy it. AA should be up around 2500 and AAA around 800.

Also a good charger would help and extend the life.

We are slowly eliminating all our alkaline batteries.

Well, thought I'd post this: Normally, when done shooting with my speedlite, I remove the batteries. Well, for some reason, I didn't the last time and went to use my SB-600 yesterday and when I went to install batteries, realized that I had never removed them from the last shoot. One was already corroded and the light would not function. Removed all four batteries and tried the eraser method on the contacts, etc. This did not work. Finally went to the kitchen and got the wife's bottle of apple vinegar. With a cotton swab (cu-tip), I gently cleaned the contacts, both inside the holder and externally. Then used another swab and used rubbing alcohol to remove the vinegar residue. Left lid open and air dried. Re-installed new batteries and all worked again. This time, removed the new batteries for the next shoot.
In posting this, I hope it will help someone remember to remove the batteries afterwards and if not, hopefully a way to fix the speedlite if something like this should happen to you.
Well, thought I'd post this: Normally, when done ... (show quote)

From the numerous reports I have read this appears to be a common problem especially with alkaline. I use rechargeable NiMH and remove them always when not in use.
