I am always spending time thinking about or actually doing photograph. I have a bunch of stuff that start life as musing and end as images.

This is called a Bad Investment.
They are not quick to set up. They can be so frustrating, the timing is so precise. They are a pain to be sure, but when you get them! You feel like you have achieved.

Bees are way easier to capture in flight. Not nearly as interesting.

Thank you for the kind words. For the most of the shots, I use a Canon 1 d mk 4, 100-400 lens. 1/2500, f5.6, iso 800. Post done in LR5.
I have seen many many butterfly photographs, but, I never see them of the butterfly in flight.
Here are a few of mine. A butterfly is so much more expressive when it is aloft, don't you think?
