Nice set Pat, hoping you get power back soon!!

Got it last night, Bob. Thanks. I'm not the best modern day pioneer. An outhouse would have been helpful!

Looks liken you did pretty good with the focusing, I've been doing a lot of manual focusing lately... the more I do, the better I seem to get, and the more I enjoy it!

Thanks cmc. My eyes give me trouble and manual focus is very hard for me. But I still try.

P4- Very nice set! I'm guessing you do have power back.

You guessed right. Saturday evening. 21/2 days without. Until you drive to the local store it’s hard to appreciate the work involved in restoring power - huge trees broken like toothpicks, poles snapped when trees fell - you know how it goes.

Stuck on dead tulips this week while inside without electricity for a couple days. I dug out my extension tubes and practiced. Getting the focus seems so difficult.

And one left over lily

P20- Thanks Larry! It has been interesting for sure!

I really appreciate those fine images!

Even though my dad taught high-school math and science classes for several years, geometry never was my strong point!

Somehow I started two parallel Challenge: Free Sundays, so that should be fun too.

I never “got” math until I hit algebra and geometry. I think it’s because both use a form of verbal language to translate problems into numbers. As a more verbal learner -that’s when the lightbulb went on and I could finally do those stupid word problems “car A is going 50mph. Car B starts 10 minutes after car A and goes65 mph. How long will it take car B to catch up to car A?” Likely couldn’t do it now but I’ll never forget those irrelevant questions that found their way into every exam!

Some more macro geometry. still no electricity. So much damage to be cleared so crews can work.

Take a peek

I've got that issue covered for here. In case of long term power outage I have a solar charger to charge my power bank or phone either one.

I really appreciate your update and understand the situation you face.

I’ll have to look into a solar one. Have a power bank. Cell towers were knocked out. So without cellular or WiFi couldn’t do anything. Thank goodness we still maintain a landline.

P14- Awesome results Pat! Glad you have a gas generator to help ease the power crunch! That is way too much snow for me!

Thx can’t participate much, Vaun, because my battery runs down and posts don’t load. :(

No power and don’t expect it to return anytime soon. 18+” of wet heavy snow. Just hooked up the gas generator. No wifi and poor cell reception. Played w some droopy tulips and my phone’s macro setting. Some of nature’s geometry emerged.

Had to cut to the chase at page 7. Looked at all the wonderful posts, but we are now in stage 1 of the incoming blizzard - heavy rain turning to snow. HIgh winds expected, so I really anticipate power outs for our house this time around. Winds 50 MPH anticipated for 36-48 hours so bucket trucks won't be able to go up until it dies down... 12-18+" of snow. It is April, right???

Some geometry in the insect/plant world.
