nice. once lived in NC and always looked forward to the first bloomers of spring. They are a bright spot during the months with little color. Thanks for posting.

I have that lens from my 35 mm days. Its a great lens and I use it on my D850 but it is total manual. Got some awesome Blood moon shots with it. Got to use a tripod with that lens for sharp photographs or it will pick up motion.

it will autofocus on both my d750 and d7200. I found pretty fair info for it on the kenrockwell.com review site. Tried to get a compatiable tc for it, only to find that the tc200 may be the only one that will work. gave up on that idea.

I suspect they were shot at close to f4 so you have a very narrow field of focus. The focus spot however is quite clear aside from the blur from shooting from a vehicle when running. Jeeps aren't know for smooth running motors. Or you might need a tune up. Next time shut the motor off or borrow a Town Car.

looking back at the data they were shot at f8 thru f11 all at 1600 ss and iso 400

I grabbed an older used nikon lense to use on my backup camera D7200. The nikon 300mm F/4 AF (1987-2000). As a shakey old senior citizen i shoot at higher shutter speeds and i thought the lack of vr on this model might not be too much of a problem. Here are some quick shots taken from my jeep window, engine running at mid day. Here are a series of quick snapshots right from the camera no post process.

These are from this past Monday at Merritt Island. It was quite windy which led to some ruffled feathers but otherwise, it was a pretty day. There were intermittent clouds which made frequent adjustments for the lighting necessary. The birds were not as plentiful as on some days but there were more than enough. I hope you enjoy them as I did!
