Those were great!
Love that nest!
Would love to watch them build that.
It is fascinating, and all it takes is an airline ticket to Cairns, Australia, You can come-on down....anytime!

The nest was built underneath a wall air-con unit, so space was a real issue. I had thought about getting rid of the background with Elements, but I felt that doing that would make it too much like an exhibition picture than an "Au Natural ". (and my experience hasnt got that far yet anyway!
Thanks for the comments...appreciated.

T'was all their own work. They are extremely tolerant of us humans and build around, and under, the family homes, seem to love pink Petunias as nesting material. Tradscot
My first attempt at photographing "wild birds", a pair of Sunbirds. I used a Canon 400d with a Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro on a tripod and cable release.
Would be interested in the cropping and presentation. I have included the initial photo's and the results after messing with Elements 6, very much a novice.
Appreciate any constructive comments/directions
Thanks, Tradscot

From one Cairns-ite to another, welcome to UHH.

Hi to all, I would like to introduce myself and ask for a little advice on a couple topics.
About me, early 70s, retired, limited mobility O.F.S., keen interest in Aviculture (bird keeping), play the organ, country music, and of course, Photography. I was fortunate to have a friend and mentor who got me started in wildflower photography in the early 1970's when I lived in Perth, Western Australia, during that time I had all Canon gear, Ftb, macro and a couple of primes and this leads me to Q1. I note that there is an adapter for FD to EF cameras being offered on EBay. Has anyone used them and if so, do they "work"? Or are they just another gimmick.
I am upgrading from a 400d (daughter in law wants it) to a 60d, as most of what I want to do is take up the macro and some bird still shots. Q2. Is the 60d the way to go?
It would be good if the old FD lenses could get a new lease on life, I look forward to hearing an opinion or two.
Thanks.
