The color version works better for me. Since the fence posts are presumably vertical and align with the building vertical I think you simply had your phone tilted when you took the shot.
Thanks for taking a look Wham. The photo was not taken with a phone, but with the Nikon D80 and as far as the discussion on whether the building was tilted or not this is what I stated on page 2 of the thread:

Hi Folks, Thanks for taking a look at the photos and commenting. As for the "crooked issue." I was on a tour bus at the time and the tour director, who seemed to be a very knowledgeable person, gave us advance notice that a crooked house was coming up. He told us the house in question was sinking into the ground on one side. Thus, the photo you now see. I guess the guide could have been wrong and by some means of mass hypnosis convinced the entire bus of the "crookedness" of the house.
In any event, I would not have taken the picture if the house was straight, nor did I have time, in a moving bus, to search for a different composition to prove it wasn't just me and the director and entire tour group.
Hi Folks, br Thanks for taking a look at the photo... (show quote)
Photographed at Robert Moses State Park, which is part of Fire Island NY. Which, if either, crop do you prefer? Further critique, comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks.
