Sorry Dennis I didn't mean to say you were rationalizing anything. I just get annoyed when I hear things like "well most of them are good" or "not all Muslims are terrorists" or "not all televangelists are crooks". None of that stuff makes any difference, bad guys are bad guys and should be jailed. It just "sounds" like we're diminishing the crime by bring the number of good guys into the issue.

No. Absolutely not. I am all for putting bad cops in prison. Crooked cops are just that, crooked.

Although I agree with everything you said I would not use the 99% to rationalize the 1%. The 1% need to be stopped and stopped now, there's just no way that kind of search and seizure should be tolerated.

I have reread my post and see nothing where I have rationalized the 1%. I am simply saying that 99% of the police you meet or see are extremely honest, more so than the average person. As an ex cop I believe crooked cops should be put in prison. Believe me, I firmly believe in the 4th Amendment. Illegal searches are just that, illegal.

Your Mileage May Vary. Its an old internet meme, from before there was such a thing as a meme. Basically, it means that how much success you achieve with a given solution, may depend on variables not discussed.

Thank you. I have heard Your Mileage May Vary but never seen it with just the initials before.

We are in a 'police state' form of government.

Please let's not go hog wild and crazy saying a police state. Most likely 99% of policemen and women are extremely honest and are doing their jobs under the most extreme circumstances. They get called foul names, get punched, spit on and rarely get the respect they deserve. How many of you who bitch about the police would honestly do that job? How many could do that job? I suspect not too many. Sure there are crooked and inept police out there just as there are crooked and inept photographers, doctors, teachers, lawyers and on and on. Come on, give it a try.

I have the same camera and the same problem. Doing anything with slot 2, other than just overflow, is not going to help performance. But as they say, YMMV, so try that as well. Get the fastest cards you can get ( Extreme Pro 95MB/s ) and dump the raw while doing continuous. You'll get the higher fps, but not for long but it will be faster than with raw.

This is something that really irked me. It feels as if Nikon purposefully kept the buffer size small to prevent sustained high fps.
I have the same camera and the same problem. Doin... (show quote)

YMMV ???

Isn't it just like Obama to misspell prestige? Sheesh. I wonder how many, "corpse men", it will take to make him well if he gets sick.

FYI Nancy Pelosi doesn't need Harry Reid to teach her to lie.

I think Harry and Nancy both attended the Debbie Wasserman Schultz School of Lying through your teeth. All are very accomplished liars but not so good at coming up with facts.

I recently bought the Lumix FZ200 for my wife and we both love it. It is lightweight and the zoom works well. No it doesn't go out to 1200mm like the Canon SX50 but it goes to 600mm with good resolution. It also has the f2.8 Leica lens which helps with low light photography. It is a keeper for us.

It seems this is a fairly common question on this forum and everyone seems to have questions or comments to either encourage the switch to the FX format or stay with the DX format. My suggestion is to do what you want to do for your own reasons. I recently bought a Nikon D800 although I had a perfectly good D7000 and also a fairly new D300. I loved both cameras and switched them occasionally. I never had a problem with either camera and each filled my needs perfectly. Did I outgrow the D7000 or feel it no longer challenged me? Not in the least bit. The D7000 is a fantastic camera and I doubt I would ever find it did not do whatever I wanted it to do. So why did I buy the D800 you might ask. Simply because I wanted to buy it and I had the money. I wanted to step up to a professional camera. I also had a few FX lenses already to use with the new camera. Did it make me a better photographer? I can't say for certainty. I haven't won any photo contests lately but maybe if I had only entered some... I think I am taking better pictures now with both the D800 and also the D7000. That is what matters to me, my personal satisfaction. Though I am interested in what other Hog members advise I am a grown up and buy what I want when I have the money.

So, Pine 1, my advice is to buy what you want. I guarantee you will like the FX format.

What does convection in a court of law mean??? Is that some new type of heating element to warm the court room? Wait! Do you mean conviction?

Interesting. When my son was about 22 he used to call it a flock of turtles when he saw a whole bunch of them. Your picture reminded me of that.
