The slide on my 75-150 e Nikon zoom is sticky, should I try to oil it?

Putting oil on the lens barrel is a very risky thing and ultimately it could make things worse, I wouldn't do it. Have the lens serviced professionally if the problem is bad and the lens is worth servicing.

Welcome to the forum. I enjoyed your photos. The wife and I use to go to the outer banks twice a year, in May and October. We usually went to Hatteras island but occasionally went to Bodie island (even though it's not actually an island at all). We didn't make it down this year; went to OCMD and Assateague for our May trip and my wife was in a bad car crash last month so no October trip to the outer banks; maybe next year.

Time for a new body. If the D80 still works ok, keep it as a secondary or a backup camera. What you can get today for under $1000 is light years ahead of the D80 in technology and ability. To get the best bang for your buck you may want to consider refurbished gear. Certified refurbished gear is every bit as good as new and in some cases even better. A refurbished D7200 is going for around $740 and with the money you save over new, you could get a nice refurbished lens, all for about the cost of a new D7200.

Welcome to the forum. The advice I always give to those who want to learn is to buy a good book or two or three on photography and or digital photography if you are using a digital camera, read the books and practice, practice, practice.

There are currently 6 of them for sale on eBay. If the camera is as good as you say then what does it matter if Samsung no longer makes them, as long as it works. I still occasionally shoot with a Canon 50D and do time lapse projects with a Canon 40D and those models haven't been made in years, but they still work, heck, I have a 10D I occasionally brush the dust off of and pop in a battery and memory card and take some pics, just to keep it from getting too lonely.

I have an SB 700, I use on a D7200, and the only time I've ever had a problem, with it is when the batteries, are low. Other than needing to charge or replace the batteries it has never given me any problems. An interesting observation I've made regarding lithium batteries, when they get low they tend to stop working but if they sit for a few minutes they come back to life for a few more flashes. They will do this a few times until they are truly dead and need to be charged.

My Wrangler has enough HP from the factory for anything I will ever use it for. Can't imagine that kind of power on a paved highway, let alone in the mud or on a steep hill. Scary. When I feel the need for speed, my motorcycle has a power to weight ratio beating almost any car on the road......and I can still get well in excess of 40 mpg.

My motorcycles engine is larger than the engine in my car, 1.846 litre 6 cylinder vs 1.4 litre 4 cylinder. The car weighs more than 3 times the motorcycle and gets better highway gas mileage than the motorcycle, and both will go at least 140 MPH. Both have heated seats and heated grips/steering wheel, and both have really nice sound systems and both are fun to drive. Who needs gobs of horsepower to have fun?!

Really neat place. I've been there several times and it's never boring.

I have a set of TCs but never used them on my long lens. I have used them on my normal lens with good results.

I am the exact opposite. I have 6 teleconverters, 1 Canon, 1 Nikon, 2 Sigma and 2 Tamron. The 2 Sigma TC'S are specifically for the 2 150-600 lenses. The Nikon is for the 200-500. Canon is for the 100-400L II and the Tamrons are mainly for windy days but I do occasionally use them on the SP 70-200 and for experimentation and general foolishness.
TC's have a place in the photography world but using then on a small prime or small zoom seems to me to be somewhat of a waste.

I use my EF 28-300L all the time for indoor shooting, on both crop and full frame. I've never had a problem with 28 not being wide enough and with the big zoom reach, I use it to get up close pics without having to get up close. It's also good for isolating individuals and getting detail shots. It works great with my 600 flash.
