Thanks for the tip Manglesphoto! I’ll try adjusting white balance!

You were spot on Manglesphoto! I used the As Shot in the first set of photos and switched to Custom in Lightroom CC to what I saw in the field instead of what the "camera saw" in this set of two. The yellow was swallowed up in the green surroundings. Attempts at using the "eyedropper" did not produce results like what I saw.

Thanks again for taking the time to give me constructive help!

Nice group of Nebraska birds. Remind me of my youth growing up in Nebraska.

I am really struck by the variety of birds I find in the Sandhills! Glad these pictures took you back to Nebraska.

Great set of images!!!!
Look like you color balance might be off just a tad (or maybe just reflected light from all the greenery) all of the yellow on the birds look green!!

Thanks for the tip Manglesphoto! I’ll try adjusting white balance!

I took a number of photos on a ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska. I also spotted a turkey vulture, a turkey with chicks, a red-headed woodpecker, a bobolink, a loggerhead shrike, a western kingbird, hundreds of red-winged blackbirds and an evening grosbeak. All the pictures were taken on 7/20/21.

American Goldfinch

Upland Sandpiper (you might guess that you would find one in the Sandhills!)

This little guy (or gal) was obviously out of the nest for the first time and I found it on this downed branch in my yard. It stormed soon after I spotted and photographed it. I could use an assist on what kind of bird it is. It could be a Baltimore oriole as I have several pairs feeding in my yard, but I have been wrong before!

It was quite willing to pose with no apparent fear.

Excellent! I was very close to the Lek and got lots of photos, but here in Montana apparently the Sharptails are more sedate. Yours were athletes!

All of our wild birds in Nebraska are athletes! Turkeys, pheasants, sharptails, quail - you name it!

All kidding aside you really did a fine job with this set gunflint! Come back to Nebraska again!

Great shots Paul. They bring back memories from more than 35 years ago when I kept sourdough starter in the refrigerator! The story was that the starter had roots in the sourdough starter of a mule packer who unfortunately had his mule (who had the starter on his back) fall down a cliff. The sad mule packer went to the bottom of the cliff and recovered a bit of starter that splashed onto the dead mule's nose to maintain his precious supply of sourdough starter. The story was likely a bunch of baloney, but served to remind me how precious it was!

This is my new bird toy. It is like a slinky of yesteryear and you put unsalted peanuts inside. Bluejays and woodpeckers enjoy pulling them out or just pecking until they get to the peanut inside the shell.

My woodpecker visits several times a day.

I had cataract surgery and presently use a mirrorless and a DSLR camera (Sony RX10 iii & Canon 5D Mark iii). I can easily read numbers/symbols in both cameras. My cataract lens are for distance. Some folk with distance/close and others have close. I personally prefer distance and wear glasses for close up like reading, but do not wear glasses when photographing. I use manual and auto-focus depending upon the situation. Any pictures that I have posted in the last two years have been taken post-cataract surgery.

In summary, I don't believe you will have problems with numbers/symbols nor focusing.

I agree with the previous post that you can adjust your view on the camera to match your eye sight!
