I got these shots while passing a vacant lot across the street from our rental during a recent escape to the Mendocino Coast. They were certainly keeping a close eye on our dogs.

First picture was taken at dusk, when it was super windy, the place was mobbed with people. Second picture was taken the next morning, far less people around.

Thank you for posting these excellent captures, Dynamics.

In the southeastern corner of Idaho is the historical village of Chesterfield. Established in 1880 by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are numerous structures in various states of decay. Some are well maintained while other, such as this interesting house are in the later stages of life.

SHUZHENG TIBETAN VILLAGE - At the conclusion of our walks along the rivers and lakeshores, we end up at the Shuzheng Tibetan Village, aka Shuzheng Zhai Village (Zhai actually means "village") situated in the Shuzheng Valley above the Sleeping Dragon Lake and Shuzheng Waterfall.

This is the largest and busiest of all nine villages here in Jiuzhaigou Valley, about 400 of the total 1000 inhabitants of the valley area live here. Tibetan style log houses line the main street and a few side streets, colorful prayer flags wave in the breeze. Since agriculture is no longer permitted inside the National Park, many of the local population operate small stores here and sell various Tibetan souvenirs as well as yak butter tea and snacks.

We went there last week and I shot thousands of shots. Here are a few of them.

Super! Looks like the eagle had a hard time catching the fish. Thanks for posting these, Larry.

For the past 10 years, we are living in a condominium community. Behind two of the four buildings is a large, protected green space, very wooded and natural. The space has provided a safe refuge for a herd of deer. I've taken and posted quite a few of the images of the deer. Much to my disappointment, since the fall, the herd had disappeared. This week, three of the deer, a mother and two younger ones have reappeared. Hooray!! Taken this morning. I had to be quick through the glass. They used to be adapted to me, but I guess we will all have to be retrained and familiarized.

Thanks for viewing!
Mark

Big, sharp, pointy feet on the way to lunch. The third bird is a Red-shouldered Hawk, the rest are Red-tails. I will probably stop playing with these backgrounds....someday....when they take away all of my orange crayons.

I like the effect of a sunset in these fantastic BIF images. Thank you for sharing, rockdog.

Had to shoot slow because of the lack of light but here is the first real test of the new gear.

Hope you enjoy.

They will be better when we get a sunny day :)

Instead of searching for more birds to photograph, I have been skiing. Yesterday there was a 4-inch fall at Alta and I was gone. This is the time of year before the tourists really descend for Spring skiing, so we take advantage of new snow and sun.

I am skiing tomorrow, but after that I will get back to posting (until the next snow).

Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

That is a great way to enjoy winter. These shots are spectacular, Mike.

This is another post of some more of the birds I found waking up in April 2019 on Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge. I tried to use the early sun to catch them as they began to move about.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Fantastic images, Mike. I especially like the backlighting on the next to the last one.
