That Wells Beach looks like a great place. Think night photography there! Very nice set.

Thank you for your comment. The key to good photos at Wells Beach is to be there when the tide is going out. Those tide pools make great compositions.

Thanks, Denns. Sometimes, when there is sharp shadow and strong light, BW works amazingly well. Not always, but many times. (A trick I heard/learned at a Nat'l Geog. photography workshop)

Thanks for the tip, Pat. I've been trying to develop an "eye" for black & white conversions and haven't come up with any system. I just do it intuitively and am surprised that my batting average is as good as it is. I do enjoy it and plan to keep it up. Tomorrow my wife and I are going for about 5 days of camping in Ossipee, NH.
I hope my camera enjoys the trip as much as we do.

It's labor day here in the US today. Been a perfect weekend. A couple more from a short hike this week.

Very nice, Pat. Scenery like that is what I find the hardest to convert to B&W.

For those with Nikon mirrorless cameras. What experience can you share concerning the use of regular mount lenses with the adapter. I have a D750 and a D7100 and quite a herd of lenses. The upcoming Z5 is catching my interest but there is no way I could afford the body and a slew of Z-mount glass. I would be keeping the other 2 cameras. Thoughts? I would probably get one of the available "kit lenses" but that would be it at least for a while.

Speaking of New England, Pat, you woke me up. These were done on the Kancamagus Hwy, the sky was from the top of road in the White Mountains and the bridge is down below and west of Conway I think the town is

Nice one, Roadrunner. That bridge is in the town of Albany, NH.

Some Maine covered bridges

Nice set, Pat. I'm not familiar with that first one. Good that you didn't show details of the graffiti in the Porter-Parsonsfield bridge. I noticed from looking at some of my own photos that some of it is not exactly G-rated.

Thank you all for making this post so much fun. I'm satisfied that it's a '41 Ford. Now I'll be able to sleep a little better.

I'm kind of excited to post this photo but I'm also asking for a little help. Can anybody out there tell me what this car is? I know it's 1940-ish but what make and model? There are no legible emblems either inside or out. The interior is not quite as pristine as the exterior. I have books on the subject of old cars but I can't find this one. Whether you can help or not, I hope you like the picture.

What is it?

I recently bought one of those. I use it on a Nikon D750 and on my D7100 (Dx). So far am very happy with the results on both cameras.
