Great challenges this past week on Reflections of the Past with Irenejb and Take me for a Walk by JudyJuul. Thanks for hosting, ladies. Got leftovers? Got some other shots from this week? We're waiting to see them.

Nice old barn. Sad to see them slowly waste away especially to an old farm boy like me. Nice shot, thank you for sharing.

I am trying to make the change from PC to MacBook and have a question about processor speed. The specs that I have selected include:
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 (Crystalwell)
16GB of Onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM
256GB PCIe-Based Flash Storage
Integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics

The GHz speed can be 2.2, 2.5, 2.8 with price increases $300, then $200 as it steps up. Is there a significant difference in these speeds?

If I get the MacBook Pro, it will replace both a laptop and desktop and will have to handle not only my photo work in Lightroom and Elements, but also Microsoft Office.

Based on my programs, is there a reason to go higher than 2.2? The lower price makes changing more palatable since I'll also have the expense of new LR, PSE and Office softwares.

P.S. I plan to continue using my 24" IPS monitor via USB.

I have a MacBook Pro which I've been using now for a year. Running with a 2.6 ghtz I7 processor, 16gb of ram and 768 SS drive. More speed and power than I need. Absolutely fast. Hate to leave it and work on my Windows based machine at my place at work. The ONLY complaint I have is when I'm running Excel, scrolling speed is slower on the MAC than on the windows based machine.

Nikon should go to 100MP. That will keep Canon busy for a while. :D

Maybe Sony will manufacture that sensor just like it does for D800

Overall, I like the lens. It is sharp and the colors look good.

But, it's very heavy. I would estimate that it is just as heavy as my Tamron 28-300mm that I use on my Canon 5DIII. The whole reason for getting the Sony A7 was to have a lighter camera for travel. This lens negates that advantage.

It also lacks a switch for turning off the auto-focus. I was hoping I could make minor adjustments with the lens focusing ring. But it didn't do anything after the camera auto-focused.

I guess the only way to override the autofocus is to go into the camera's menu and turn it off. Not convenient, when all I want to do is choose a different focus point than the lens has selected. A couple of times, I focused on a blossom on a tree, centering it in the crosshairs of the viewfinder. But the camera wanted to focus on some leaves that were closer. The only way to get the camera to focus on what I wanted, was to focus on something else, and then return to the blossom.

Maybe I can set one of the user-defined buttons to temporarily defeat autofocus.

Despite some negative reviews that warned of softness at full zoom, I found the lens to be sharp at all times.

Nevertheless, autofocus is also sometimes a bit slow, and there's some hunting. This occurred outdoors during bright daylight.

Despite these shortcomings, I will keep the lens. I need a good zoom to use when I travel.

I've done some minimal post-processing on the attached photos, mainly cropping.
Overall, I like the lens. It is sharp and the colo... (show quote)

Do you like color or B/W

Color for me. One UHH'r thought it to be a model B but it is actually a model H. Location of the steering wheel and it's front rims indicate it being an H. Apparently some one added the yellow stripe might have added some class to it but didn't. The yellow stripe on the side of the hood was added when they came out with the "20" series in the mid 50's which I believe was 1956. Yes color for me because it does show better detail and 2, I see in color. I've had John Deere during my farming days, but I had switched to Massey Ferguson. Good shot. Thanks for sharing.

Yes it is right by the bridge. Can verily see it when you down load it and you have to zoom in on it to get a good view.

Great pictures, like them all but the 4th one I like best because when I downloaded it I saw one of the worlds greatest tractor of that time. It appears to be a Ferguson TO20 which was very popular during the time it was made. Thank you for sharing..

Mallard drake in flight taken at Chambers Lake.

It is great when everything comes together - the small patch of open water was next to the shore close to the road and within range of my lens, the light was great and the light wind was blowing from left to right. So the water fowl coming and going were flying nicely across my field of view.

Overall perfect conditions for photography - I just wish that the birds were more active.

Great great BiF.... Thanks for sharing..
