i just leave the camera on raw, even with dual cards. for a while I would record both, raw on one and jpeg on the other. I found never i never used the jpeg files. file storage is so cheap these days. but i do record raw to both jus in case i have a card issue which I did on my Alaska trip.

never heard of this, anyway i guess ill follow the recommendatio to use the flash occasionally. by the way, i had some batteries start to leak. I was able to clean the contacts. Now I remove the batteries altogether if I don't plan using it for a while. I use name brand batteries, not the real cheap ones.

i had the ball head of my tripod get stuck, couldn't get is unscrewed from the shaft. i took it to the camera store. The clerk got some rubber band, put them on the tripod shaft which gave him a better grip. got it loose. thoe rubber bands are still on the shaft. Caution do not rubber bands to tighten any thing.

any r********ns discussions eill likely end up at a dead end. i don't envision any method or approach that can satisfy those who want r********ns or expect them.

Come on folks, play nice. you get thousands o people out for a day at any rally and you will get a mess. please lets no 'trash' each other all the time, we all live her, have different views but need to respect each other and live in harmony. th risk is we degrade into civil war.

i use Nik DEfine for noise. Works well. Topaz does to, perhaps slightly better, but since my workflow uses other Nik plugins, I just use Nik. as for other topaz products, I like them. the ai sharp taxes a very long time on my computer. I have ab older computer, an I5 and 16 gb ram. As a result I stick with Nik Sharpen, work just as well and is much quicker, Megapixel takes a log time as well. One thing that help tio flatten your image first if you use other plugins before you use AI sharpen or Mega pixel.

Republicans you are always slamming Democrat, calling us lefties et. well ree******n is no a given. wouldn't it be a better approach to be nice to others and garner v**e than otherwise would v**e for non Republican candidates? Your childish name calling does nothing to woo v**es, turns people away.
It's just a thought. you are entitled to do wh**ever you want, but i for one will not v**e for any Republican, I used to but now.

i have the tamron 15-30 g2.. Outstanding lens, used properly, your pictures will be tack sharp from 10 feet to infinity. you can get closer like for flowers but a macro might be better for closeups, . it is a wide angle so you will likely do some cropping in post particularly in for full frame. aperture, very sharp at f8. dont expect a lot of bokeh, at least with how i shoot, ie not with aperture wide open. it is a very big, weighty lens, as for distortion, photoshop does a ver good job correcting, i assume lightroom will do the same. i have a Canon. i used to use a an old model 17-40 which is a goo lens, i like the tamron.

i had a similar issue with a new mac. if you have access to a mac store take it there first. there could be a slight change in how the computer sees files. second best buy,
goes without saying, gotta have backups,
since i had all my files backed up, actually double backed ups, i reformatted reformatted the disk, have not had an issue, still double back up. mt work process is to save my photos in a file on my ssd , which was 0.5 tb, work on post processing from the sdd for speed of drive. then when iim done i save the fil to a second 8tb non ssd drive. not i still have the originals on the sd card from the camera. since mt camera has dual card capability, i aslso use that to record jpegs as a backup. i then save all my jpegs to the 8tb drive as well, untouched. only takes a few minutes for a days worth of photo files.
i am a heavy user of my computer, used own my own company, so disk drive failures are not a a stranger to me. i had two computer drive failures, symptom, computer would not boot, second one hear clicking, drive was not recognized, third drive not recgnized, reformatted, still works an my embarrasing one, i had movered my drive, and the power cable pulled out.
another thing have considered is to buy 512mb SD cards and never delete the files. thats a lot of pictures.
oh my 8tb drive is accessible as a network drive, i can access all the files on it via the internet from a different computer.

Thats a good point. My macs have lasted, 10 years for a laptop, an 8 years and counting for my IMac. So far I had to replace the hard drive on the Imac, ($199), and the video "card", which cost $450 but since there was only a couple months between the two apple credited me the $199, thus $250 for the video card.
as for the laptop, Apple replaced the motherboard when it wouldn't charge, something to do with the mag connector circuit. It was out of warranty, but the replaced it for free. I wish i had a more powerful IMac as photos today are much larger. im waiting for my imac to fail, trade in is only $200. i will get the i9, get non oEM ram, and put in 64mb. 512 SSD is fine with me, I have my photos on separate external SSDS. Not sure on the video card upgrade versus base, i will problt go for it as i expect the machine to be around 10years, even if i have to replace a part or twoalong the way

Hmmm interesting, my imac is fairly slow, which i have attributed to only 16gb ram. its a 2011 machine. i also have a slow non sSD drive. i have an app that gives me available RAM, which gos below 1gb, so I close my browser ad other programs. Helps. One thing that i have noticed is the cpu temp runs around 120 deg 9not sure if f or c, but i think it Deg f. is that hot or not but the computer cabinet seems warm. the fan is running inside the computer? i wonder is there 1 or 2 fans? could 1 be not working. The other thing i worry about is my hard drive. In the past week I had 2 computer lockups while using photoshop. both when saving a photo, it took several attempts to get the computer restarted. The statusbar during starp would get 3/4 of the way then stop. I forced a power down, retried, and after a few tries it rebooted. so perhaps my hd is going bad. i do have all my files on separate drives, double backed up. Thoughts
