Thanks for all the replies. I decided to order the Microsoft 3000. Hopefully, at the least it will not be any worse than the Logitech 800 I am using now.

Don't know what model of Microsoft you had but I am using a Microsoft wireless keyboard 3000 v2.0 Model 1379 and as others mentioned I also rest my fingers on the keys. Never had any problem with keys activating. In fact I just tested and even when I gently tap my fingers on the keys, nothing happens. Don't know how old it is - Amazon has one for $64.99 with free delivery (keyboard - mouse combo). Amazon didn't give the model # so don't know if it is exactly the same.

I don't know either what Microsoft keyboard model I had, but the model you mention here sounds like a good possibility if I can find one new. Won't need the mouse, but price of package is cheap enough to not worry about it. Thanks.

I have a Logitech K800 wireless keyboard. I bought it several years ago, but it's still offered for sale. The keys are definitely not supersensitive to touch - that isn't an issue. They're full-stroke keys, which I like. They don't make a noticeable "click" when they are pressed - just sort of a bumping sound. I like the backlit keyboard, as well as the palm rest. The keyboard will operate wirelessly, but, since I found I don't care for typing with the KB on my lap, it just stays on the charger all the time.

I checked my model #; it is the k800. Still too sensitive for me. Thanks for the info.

I would like to buy one that is not so touch sensitive that the shadow of my finger tips activate the keys😕. The previous one I had was Microsoft. I tossed that one because of over sensitive keys. There are only two stores in my area that carry computer supplies. Both carry various brands, but neither offer open box units for customer testing. And of course sales persons had no knowledge of the particular product characteristic I am looking for. Thus, I bought a Logitech model that was as bad as my previous ones. Have kept it for a couple of years and now want to see if there is a model that has a less touch sensitive characteristic. I touch type but I need my fingers resting lightly on the keyboard. As of now, I am correcting typos by the dozens.
Any advice re a suitable keyboard will be appreciated.

I worked with someone once who had a coffee cup with the writing on the side “Is there life before coffee?” Think I will search around the net to see if can find one of those.

There have been numerous posts on here re the time change ritual. My unofficial survey suggests a majority of respondents would prefer the ritual be done away with. While I have never been an advocate I have always considered it a minor nuisance, especially when I was working.
Well, my state legislature (the Peoples Republic of Maryland) has introduced a bill to eliminate the “ritual” and keep the time on day light savings. Not sure if a new time name is included in the bill. The legislature is mostly Democratic while the Governor is Republican. I have not read or heard of reasons for the change. Or whether the Governor will have reason to veto the bill. Of course, the legislature could override the veto. May depend on whether there are any lobby interests to keep the status quo.
I am trying to imagine experiencing the day light schedule in winter.
Comments are welcome.

One of the funniest descriptions of a colonoscopy I have ever read was written by the comic writer Dave Barry. It was several years ago; have not done an internet search to see if it is still retrievable.

I have two friends; one female, one male; that have verbal diarrhea. The only way I can get a word in is to jump in with a forced interruption. But I barely get a sentence finished before they do the same. The male, a high school classmate and close neighbor, stops by once a week or so for a chat. He starts talking before he even sits down. He can talk an hour on details concerning his cat or what chores he has done. Like I am interested in his personal trivia. It’s rare he ever asks me a question.
Obviously, these two are not listeners. I can never finish a point unless it can be done in one sentence.
You might ask why I put up with such friends. The female, also a neighbor, has a heart of gold and will practically do any favor I need. She has come through a number of times when I needed help.
The male classmate and I are both on our reunion committee and we both do volunteer duty at our local museum. So, I need to tolerate him.

Thanks for the responses; however, I had hoped someone here would have had some knowledge of the Shark model. Perhaps the unit is too new. I am not particularly enthralled with most of the experiences expressed about the R model. But it looks like these devices, at current design specs, are anything but a vacuum panacea.

I subscribed to CR for more than 20 yrs. finally gave it up upon retirement. Maybe I am wrong, but the few times I tempted to obtain product descriptions and ratings online one needed to be a subscriber. Thanks

Saw a tv ad for, I think, a Shark brand vacuum guided by laser technology. Per the ad the Shark out performed the “other” model, which was the one that first came out several years ago. At that time I was quite skeptical of performance and passed it off as a novelty. This Shark model is priced at $300.00. My problem is I am at the age where handling a floor vacuum, push or self propelled (have not seen one with reverse gear), is down right tiring. A robotic model, if it has acceptable performance values, would be a welcome addition. But being an old skeptic I do not trust ads, especially tv ones. Been burned more times than I care to admit.
Bottom line: does anyone here have any experience with these devices. Comments welcome.
