I agree with COs post about HDR.
As an alternative to that, if you want to keep the foreground very dark (like you have it), I would spot out the tiny lights in that same area and also over to the lower right, there appears to be a fat horizontal line that I would k/o.

If you want a high panorama of mountains, you could take a gondola or a chairlift to about mid-mountain in Lionshead or Vail. I believe they may only be running on Saturday during late-September. There are some nice views of the Gore Range to the east.

A couple of minutes in Adobe Camera Raw filter and another minute or so doing spotting with the spot-healing brush tool and I think there is the improvement you are looking for. I have added attachment. hope it goes through.

I dropped them into Photoshop camera raw filter. The first thing I did was give the color temp a very slight warming touch since the photos looked too much like concrete instead of nature to me. I then pulled the highlights slider way down, adjusted the shadows a touch lighter, then applied clarity to about +28. I think the results are more pleasing. I can send you the revised files via "WeTransfer" if you want to give me your email address.

One added note, be sure to focus manually to get sharp detail. When I made moon shots the auto focus setting was just okay. Manual focus at infinity was not sharp. backing off the infinity setting gave me the crisp detail I was looking for.

Like the second shot the best! The first and third have so much smoothing of the water that it appears to be snow. Again, love that second shot.

Hey there Geoglass, back on Feb 14th I saw your post of this photo. I responded to the post via "PrivateMessage" and to this date the PMessage still remains unread. I also included an image that I post-processed in a few minutes by using a screen grab of your image. I think you will be surprised at the result. At the top of the UHH page click on Private Messages, then Inbox in the next window

If you are into waterfalls, check out the Transylvania County area for many waterfalls with viewing ranging from roadside for a few, to easy hike for more and longer trail hikes for others. The Dupont Forest has some excellent ones. The county is south of the Asheville area, an easy run east off of the parkway. For accommodations there, checkout the town of Brevard-- their visitor center has literature/maps to waterfalls in that area. You can also Google NC Waterfalls for info. Allow at least a day. When ready, you can drive back up to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. easily to continue your trek south towards the Parkway's end at Cherokee.

Thank you! Both cars were shot in The Villages, in Central Florida. Each third Saturday of the month they have a classic car show on their Spanish Springs Square. When the "snowbirds" are in town they car have 250 or more vehicles on display. It's a lot of fun to see some really great restorations.

The Tokina SD 11-16 f2.8 (IF) DX II has been an excellent purchase for me. I got it from Adorama for $439. It is aspherical and I have been pleasantly surprised at the lack of distortion using it on a Nikon 7100. The 2.8 gives you an advantage when the light is low.

Here are a couple of hand-held sample shots.

Very nice series! I've always wanted to get back there for another visit.
Shot number 4 can be really spectacular with just a bit of tweaking in the PS camera raw filter. I suggest that you correct (adjust) the white and black points, apply the haze slider a bit, then warm up the shot slightly to +8. That will earn you a WOW. If you want to see what that looks like without trying it yourself, send me an email and I'll send it to you.

Keep the fence... nice pano. A suggestion, if you are going to print this, before you do, k/o the dust spots in the sky (seen in enlarged download). Since it is a pano made of several images, they repeat themselves across the sky. Photoshops patch tool should make it quick and easy.

I am very pleased with the Tokina 11mm - 16mm, 2.8 on my 7100. It is very highly rated and affordable at Adorama. I attended a classic car show last weekend and found that it gave me an added advantage that I had not thought of beforehand. It allowed me to get very close to the cars to get my shot without having someone walk between me and the car. The sharpness in center and out to the edges is very, very good.

Here is a sample shot with the Tokina 11-16 F 2.8 DX II. I was no more than about 3-feet from the car.

Look for a RaceTrac gas station in your area. Here in Central Florida they do sell gas w/o Ethanol but it is more expensive. Also look for "Gas Stabilizer" in Home Depot which you can add to your gas with ethanol to balance it out.
