No more than I watched TV I couldn't justify paying for more than 5 or 6 channels so I just dropped it. That was about 30 years ago and I haven't missed it at all.

I've seen that a few times mostly at dining-ins and dining- outs. We did it at our OCS graduation dinner.

Garlic Mustard was brought over from Europe for gardens as it is one of the first greens to grow in the spring. Tastes like it sounds. It is considered an invasive plant (it displaces native plants)., At the Nature Preserve that I manage we filled about 5 large garbage bags of the stuff a couple weeks ago.

I just wish Indiana would pick one or the other and stick with it. The northwest and southwest corner decided to stay with central time while the rest went eastern. They once gave the counties a choice and what a "Charlie Foxtrot" (as we used to say in the Army) that turned out to be.

That's one I hadn't heard before. Will remember it the next time a bunch of us a sitting around ragging each other on our respective branch of service.

I've seen them there a few times, never more than 3 or 4 at once. One of the birders that hangs out there told me that there is one of them that migrates with the Sandhills. We're seeing (and hearing) more and more pass overhead heading north., Spring is close!

Due to a neck injury the around the neck straps that came with both my Nikon and Canon cause pain. I have an over-the-shoulder strap that makes it more comfortable to carry.

#1 sounds like a neighbor a couple of houses away. Likes to work in his garage and crank up some awful music from the '80s. Fixed the problem by hooking up a large speaker in the wife's' potting shed, aiming it towards his garage and cranking up my CD of bagpipes. Problem solved. By the way, love your posts.

I was introduced to MAD in the early '60s, still have them stored away. They're not in good shape having been read over and over but I still pull them out a reread them. I never had to hide them, parents didn't "get" them but I got to read them anyway. I also still have some of their paperback books. I ended up buying their CD collection of the magazine.

Trigger thumb left hand, then trigger finger (middle) of the right. Meds didn't help, opted for surgery that was back when I was in my early 50's. No problems since.

Keep posting, sometimes the old ones remind of the first time I heard them. Pleasant memories.

We stayed at Keokuk a couple years ago in a house overlooking the river, it wasn't unusual to see eagles flying past the window at eye level. At the dam there was what I called "the teaching tree" full of mature and juvenile eagles. The mature ones would fly and skim the water then return to the tree then a young one would fly out and do the same. Not catching fish just learning. Most people don't know that the young have to be taught how to hunt.
