Although we haven't heard from the OP on why they decided to use an DNG, the correction to the problem they posted is just a few keystrokes to undo the prior import. For an experienced and knowledgeable user, there was nothing about their issue that was 'grief or lost time'. There are hours upon hours of 100% free training available on utube and Adobe's site for how to set-up and use Lightroom. However, if you desire to sit down and play and think you'll learn by doing, this is not that software. Training shouldn't be considered grief or wasted time.
