Taken in Venice, FL today. Help me identify the bird.
Third shot - bird is beginning to regurgitate a berry. I missed the berry coming out.

Excellent catches and really nice photos!

Red-shouldered hawks were as numerous as Red-tails this migratory season. These are some of my favorites. This set ranges from juveniles to breeding adults.

After seeking the non-traditional shots around Moab for a day, on the next day I gave in to my wife's desire to visit some of the parks before going home. This day was bright, without the great clouds present in my first set. These are photos of the area just before entering the official boundaries of Dead Horse State Park and the Island in the Sky portion of Canyonlands National Park.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing!

These common waterbirds are very photogenic.
As usual, it was a gray day with lots of clouds. In addition, in this area, they are constantly burning harvested fields adding to the grayness and fouling all the air. Although it is a beautiful area, the powers that be have allowed the area to be in an almost constant state of air pollution. (Colusa NWR)

Excellent series and very nice photos!

I recently returned from Death Valley. My wife couldn’t figure out why I wanted to go...not enough color. I enjoyed two days of exploring the unique features of the park.

Here is some of what I saw.

Sacramento NWR. I usually look for a Snowy as we drive by this spot. The water flows under a road and drops down to creek level, flowing fairly fast. This Snowy was right in the middle of a little water fall. I never saw what it was catching but it would lose balance and reorient each time it grabbed for something. Tiny fish? Bugs?
