I reckon it’s a pretty good shot.

Thanks John.

I’ve not been up Haytor before so this morning was a great experience for this old man - made better by having the company of my daughter.
The Victorians kindly carved steps to help old geezers on their way - just one spot where a small bridge would have assisted further, but they couldn’t run to that!
The weather this week is just too good - Flaming June lives up to its name at last - but not ideal for photos! This from my iPhone - what do you reckon?

Thank you Dave. Sometimes it's what looks right that counts, regardless of the technicalities. I'm becoming more and more willing to push the saturation as long as nothing gets garish in the process. Sometimes that means being almost brutal in subduing yellows and greens after a global Vibrance boost.

Yes, vibrancy winds up the yellows. You can gain more control using HSL, where both saturation and luminance are very controllable - and can change the effect of individual colours. Another highly useful Lr attribute.

Great subject Linda. I have used angled shots in the fashion you describe without knowing the terminology. I’ve posted one or two previously but my internet connection is too slow to go looking for them. I remember the ‘downhill windsurfer’ and, I think, one of my shadow portraits being well angled. It is a very effective technique and one I’ll be trying again as you have renewed my interest in it - many thanks for that.

"...but it doesn't really look natural." Well, gee mm, that's why I called it "Fantasy". (Sorry about that, just couldn't resist.) Seriously, a bit of mist would. Haze I think I could handle, but mist is beyond me at this time. Mist looks nice, while haze has no beginning or end (in my view). Feel free to show what you have in mind, and tell how please.

Away from base this week Neil so no Ps I’m afraid (and limited internet connection to boot). Haze would do the job just as well I reckon - that might be possible with a simple Lr brush?

Of the first four, the top left does nothing for me but the other three are very striking. The mirror shot is excellent. The colours of all three are a big contributor to their success and your imagination is to be congratulated. Truly artistic.
The lower two I find less striking but certainly interesting.
Not sure you’re going to get a huge response from Gallery - perhaps choose one of the more specialist sections to solicit views?

A lovely photograph Bob. I like the way the central bold colours are sandwiched between the subtle greys of the trees and the road.
How do you know which pump to pull up by?

Such saturation! Very lovey - you could stitch these together for a pano.

I think I see why you like it Neil, but it doesn’t really look natural. The backlighting to the figures on the tower is certainly attractive though. Could you include a bit of mist perhaps?

Beautifully processed Dave, you’ve made him stand out and given the shot some real depth. Great effort. Can’t help with who he looks like but he may belong to the same beard club as a couple of FYC contributors!

Whether it’s factually correct or not I don’t know, but I do prefer that bit of tip that Linda suggests to make it sit nicely. Otherwise, a perfect composition RG, and just a tad more saturated than usual for you?

I agree with rgrenaderphoto that it would be good to tuck the shoreline into the right bottom corner, but then we would loose that wide spread of sand that I rather like. Perhaps you do need to find a slightly better viewpoint. Otherwise, I reckon it achieves everything you set-out to get Bob. Very nicely.

I see many in my area Dave. I don't have one and I haven't give much thought to owning one, but I do believe you put a bug in my ear !!! Not sure how it would play out only being a few mile from an airport.
Dave

Ah, you do need to be careful if you’re near flightpaths. Over here they come down hard on you if you cause any concern.
Good to see you Dave, appreciate you calling in.

I like the path through the grass. But then I like grasses. It's interesting that there's a very well-worn path through there, but the only passers-by are dogs. It makes me wonder where the people are. It's interesting that the dogs are actually ON the path, as my dogs would have been probably making their own paths. It's an interesting image as is.

Well I guess it will soon be mowed and we’ll be back to the narrow worn track across the field. It does get quite well used as it’s a shortcut, diagonally across the field and back to civilisation. These two do like running through the grass when it’s tall like this -especially the big one. The tiddler has to jump up and down to see where her pal has got to!
Thanks for looking-in APL, good to see you here.
