@drmike99 Correct with file size constrains and MP limits. I might have to consider building another darkroom in the basement. The last time I actually developed film myself was 1982 while teaching at the local community collage. I'm so out of the loop.. digital cameras have made me weak.

You're right, drmike99 there is a very tight window now.. I've already sent contacts to the darkroom and a few other places to find out the turn around. CA is going to be a long shot cause it's very far away. trying to locate something in PA,VA, MD etc.

@captivecookie you're going to have to wait even longer. here's what Happen today. We took the disposable kids camera to walgreens, cvs, rite aid, walmart etc and all of these retailers said it's going to take 3 weeks to develop!! In other words, those retailers have to send the film out to be developed. What the hell, this challenge is turning into a "real' difficult challenge, first taking 6 attempts just to find the camera now none of the local retailers can get the film developed before the challenge ends. My last hope, locate a film developing severs online with a fast turn around.

Something else I wanted to add to this topic. I wanted to make sure that the camera did not have a flash as I was going to rely on the natural light from the surroundings. If the camera had a flash, I would have used duct tape or electricians tape to cover the flash itself. In this instance, I was able to locate a model at the location who was willing to pose in a chair while sitting near one of the many windows in this mansion. I wanted to use the ambient glow or light coming from the large glass windows of the dinning area. I was able to get two shots in two separate locations. it was cloudy yesterday so the light though antique window panes was offering a soft glow while casting shadows on the subject and again I can't wait to see these results.

if the image was taken along side the road, the tractor is merely a show piece or field art. Just like those glass globes on top of the bird bath.. yard decorations.

The most impressive thing is how you got a lens with a max of 70mm to shoot at 105mm. 😜🤪

HA! I totally missed that..

Agreed. As an artist it's very difficult to convey what you're trying to others that may or may not understand your view point. I get this my self all the time. Struggling to convey what I've seen within a photo when others don't see the same thing. I think all of us need to put ourselves in the artist shoes in order to make better sense of what we're looking at. GL with your art.

What might make this image confusing is that zero polarization filter was used, so you're getting some of the street/car etc in the glass, if the filter was used it would reduce or eliminate the excess noise. otherwise it looks like a photo copy from a news paper.

You did force focus on the center of the flower, but didn't enlarge or readjust the green square to the proper size. Assuming your camera is equipped with this type of option.

I've been searching for an of site printing company willing to do some odd ball sizes. The issue here is I have to have my image printed under the poster sized prints category. This will allow me to have my prints at larger sizes assuming the image size/constraints will allow it. I've use 3 servers so far and all three of them have got it all wrong. According to their site, they are suppose to add a 1/4 (or less) white border around my prints this allows room for the framers to adjust the mat around the print instead of using the mat to crop the picture which one will lose part of the image in the process. I've located an online editor which allows me to add varying sized borders. Note the attached image (Crossed Pillars) shows I've added a small 1/4 border around the print. The printing service will automatically print this as part of the over all image adjusting the print size to the constraint with the white border.

So before you send/upload you image to be printed online/offsite service, make sure you add a white border or you'll end up losing part of your image during the mat process.

I'm now obsessed with my current offsite challenge I've accepted through another site. it deals with the use of a kids camera. The camera can be a waterproof or a typical disposable camera no digital cameras allowed. In fact, if one wants to get really creative, they could use a home made pinhole camera with photo paper etc.

The idea is to use what you're able to find in your local store, the small disposable plastic cameras with a plastic lens etc. For my challenge yesterday, I had to drive several miles/hours searching for a disposable camera instore and I ended up with a fujifilm kids waterproof 35mm camera.

One has 4 weeks to complete this challenge as some film development can take up to 3 weeks to developed. I've found that Walgreen can developed within 3-7 days. The last stipulation, is that you can't use the camera's view finder. you're going to have to just judge or approximate distance and angle of the shot. I sent 10 hours yesterday just pointing and shooting and hoped for the best.

Image must be taken with a disposable camera. If you're not able to locate a black & white film camera, you may take image in color but the image must be converted to black and white without any other post processing.

Your have 4 weeks to completed this task. I'll be posting my images soon as well.

GOOD LUCK!

The last cropped image is slightly better, what's missing is more shadows from the surroundings. Time of day would have worked better for this image as either morning light or early evening light would have cast more defined shadows. Remember photography isn't just about taking a picture of a particular subject, it's about using the light or no light to it's advantages.

It's unclear what you're wanting to do. But if you can upload the pictures to your computer, then all you need is to rescale or size the images to upload here of an alternate storage site then add a redirect. it's possible that the image scale is too large to upload here a good size reference is 400 x 400 or there about.

There's a couple of things I liked about this camera, the big knobs used to forward the film once and image has been exposed. but the shutter leaver was a bit clunky, I kept wanting to press in the leaver in instead of pressing down the leaver. I'm use to the press button style shutter release. I think the small view finder is a bit obsolete and useless. So I basically just pointed the camera in the general area and pressed the shutter leaver. I think this would make a great second or third camera to carry along on hikes. it will be interesting what the images will look like once developed. Sort of haphazard I suppose. Looks as if Walgreens has won the challenge of developing the film for use is with take 3-7 days to do so. other sites like CVS etc said it would take 3 weeks to develop. The challenge deadline is Aug 30th..

I was asked to take part in a photo challenge today using a 35mm camera. I thought easy enough so I registered to take part in the challenge. But reading the fine print one must use a kids 35mm film camera. This was challenge in itself as we drove to locate this camera at several stores, 5 out of 6 stores did not have this type of film camera through they did have a kids digital camera. The last store, was Walmart and within their camera department I found a kids 35mm waterproof camera. I've spent the day at a variety of locations taking pictures of everything. The problem, is that the small viewfinder was too small for me to use or even to look through. I was forced just to aim and shoot and hope for the best. I was able to locate several worthy locations with a few test subject willing to strike a pose. I used up 27 shots in a span of 10 hours. Now we're waiting to have the camera/film developed and placed on a CD or SD card. Along the way I made some new friends in that are models willing to work with me on other projects. it's been a very long time since I've used anything 35mm or even a camera that one can't look through to actually frame the image. I'm hope for the best and will report back here with a few shots once they have been developed. This is the camera I selected for my shoot. This is a kids waterproof disposable camera ISO-800 with a plastic lens. I've always wanted to test one of these camera and if successful I may resort to using this camera as a last resort or secondary camera while on our vacations.
