I encountered the same difficulty using the Pentax 500 mm f 5.6 manual focus lens. And for difficulty focusing, I have never seen anything worse than a mirror lens!

Puff the Magic Dragon had a distinctly different purpose in Vietnam. And the airplane is still alive today. It could bring awesome death and destruction. And yours is an awesome photo!

I have purchased several cameras and lenses from various stores in Japan. Been extremely pleased with every purchase. I highly recommend them. Be aware that with standard shipping , it usually takes 7 to 14 days before the merchandise arrives. But as with KEH and Roberts, it is generally better quality than described.
Thank you for posting this. It is a fitting tribute do the very unusual and devoted man, as well as to the Airmen who sacrificed all.
I had a large inventory of bodies and lenses for a particular brand (Pentax) and sought quotes from both MPB and KEH.MPB said they were not interested in that brand. I have dealt with KEH many times and I'm extremely pleased with them.
I have the 645 Z and 2 of my five lenses are manual focus oldies. Also realize that there are film era af push/pull lenses available for it at quite reasonable prices. The current af lenses have built in stabilization but are dreadfully expensive. The image quality of this camera regardless of the lens one uses is outstanding. I found the best selection and prices come from Japanese stores.
There is a fair number of features on both my cameras which I never use and doubt that I ever will. And as Gasman rightly says, they do not bother me. However I would like to see professional-grade cameras made without video, GPS horizen levellers, etc. They surely contribute to the cost of manufacture yet I also realize that appealing to the mass markets makes standardization easier which contains costs. Life is the way it is. As the great author, Edward Abbey said, " Life is not fair and it is not fair that life is not fair! "
