I am using Photoshop CC 2015. I don't know what stuff I did turn off or a malfunction which causes PS not allowing me to use Perspective Warp any longer; no response to click.
Please anyone having the same experience help me to resolve this. Many thanks

I would never buy a phone out of China as I agree they would be watching you and your apps.

Who are "they"? Aren't you being watched now with your phone or your home PC camera? How did the German President being listened and by whom? In my opinion, we are more likely to be watched by the US officials with the Apps and the OS we are using than where your phone is made. Correct me if I were wrong.

Very good indeed at half the price of a late iphone; I don't mid it be my next phone. US sanctioning all the good stuff from China is not a free trade country. Image US allows EV from China to sell here; Tesla sales will drop tremendously.

My aging Dell computer, which is usually reliable and pretty responsive, has become a sloth.
Dell XPS 435MT 2009 vintage
Intel i7, 2.67 GHz
24 GB RAM
64 bit Windows 10 - Home version
C drive: 1 terabyte SSD
D drive: 1 terabyte SSD
E drive: 500 Gigabyte spinning drive

All discs have been defragged and optimized within the windows operating system. All have about 1/3 unused capacity.
Task master shows 5% CPU, 16% memory, 10% disk usage
I run Microsoft Office and Adobe Lightroom

Within the past week, all activity has nearly stopped. I can open files. I can run all applications, but with outrageously slow response. I tried to copy files from one drive to another....the system ran all night, and shows it it is 1% complete. The "discovery" phase of the copy took about 12 hours. The "copy" part has made no progress since I got up this morning. The copy application is moving, but at 200 bytes / sec, then 0, then something between. No measurable progress.

The only recent change in software was a Lightroom update, but all activity is slow, regardless of drive or application.

I don't know where to look further. Any suggestions (other than the perhaps inevitable Costco trip) are welcome.

Thanks for your thoughts.

/Bob

Before buying another PC, you may want to check U-tube on "how to speed up your PC" which shows how without buying any software to RUN %temp%/temp/prefetch/msconfig/regedit/Disk Clean; remove all Notifications; Privacy settings; gaming options off; Change Power settings; control Startup Apps; Advance System settings. etc
I have about the same system as yours and still be able to run CPU above 3.4GHz
You probably have a lot of junk files on your background that slow your PC
Every U-tube shows you about most of the stuff and something new.
If you decide to have a new one, check the refurbished on Amazon i7 with SSD; check if your old RAMs can be used on the new one. Good luck

When you run out of diskspace working in a longer (time / steps) workflow with monstrous and unnecessary TIFFs, you might not find this idea so 'free'.

More effective would be learning and applying the basics of Noise Processing and Sharpening. Neither of these settings are applied to the RAW files. Instead, the RAW photographer is responsible for understanding and applying that knowledge onto / into their images during the edit process. NX studio is doing nothing more than the human digital editor should be doing themselves in a workflow that skips an extraneous step in unneeded software and the associated TIFF transfer file.

These two posts are specific to LR. The ideas are applicable to all professional-grade software.

Rather than investing in a book, I suggest you spend a little time on YouTube - EVERYTHING you need will be there. And free.

Newer versions of PS support slightly different technique, such as select and mask - to help swapping backgrounds easier.

I used LR for a while but I was always confused by the Catalog usage; if you rename your folder's name, it would lose track of it. So I still use Faststone to keep track of my photo, of course I can't use LR catalog's perks

I borrowed $50 from my mum and $50 from my dad
I bought a shirt costing $95
After the purchase, I had $5 left
I returned $1 to my dad and $2 to mum, and kept $2 for myself
I now owe my mum $48
I now owe my dad $48
In total I owe $96
Adding in the $1 I kept for myself totals only $97

So where is the missing $3?

Likewise
I borrowed $50 from my mum and $50 from my dad
I bought a shirt costing $59
After the purchase, I had $41 left
I returned $20 to my dad and $20 to mum, and kept $1 for myself
I now owe my mum $30
I now owe my dad $30
In total I owe $60
Adding in the $1 I kept for myself totals only $61

So where is the missing $39?

I bought two WD each was 1 trb. they both went out less than a year after I bought them and about a month apart. I contacted customer service several times and each time they grew progressively more rude and argumentative, including calling me a liar. I got a hold of my attorney and he wrote a letter which cost me fifty bucks and got my money back telling me that it was all a misunderstanding yuda, yuda, yuda. I don't know how they are now and I'm not willing to find out.

I had two older bulking 1T hard drives that went bad for no reasons before I ever used much of them, from then on I only buy the SSDs which don't ever have any problem

Go with a Dell XPS Model! - I did about 9 months ago, and have been Thrilled with it!
A very nice, and powerful machine, with plenty of features, at a reasonable price, with Dell having your back, AND, - Financing as well!

A Dell XPS sells for at least $1300, it is an expensive laptop and not a desktop. You are not responding to the originator's quest.

Last year, I upgraded my old desktop top, and I chose something similar to the below link for around $250
I had the i-7 core and 250G SSD instead, I added another 4G RAM(from my old desktop) totaling 20G, I have a 40" Samsung monitor($400 about 6 years ago on Black Friday Sale). This is for your reference only that you don't have to spend a fortune to get something decent for your photo editing/storage purpose.

I'm starting to save for a full frame body. Any thoughts on which way to go? I'm narrowing down to either Nikon 850 or 780. Not really interested in switching to mirrorless.
I'm mostly shooting landscape and also really closeup / macro-ish subjects. My carry around lens is a Tamron 18-400 and just got the 150-600 for my D7200.
If this is covered else on UHH, please post the link.
Thanks!

With the price of a D850, I would buy a newer D780 + a very reputable Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 AF-S Zoom since you don't have a FX wide-angle zoom.
