My wife and I are planning to visit Galapagos and Machu Picchu for our 50th wedding anniversary. What time of year do other Hedgehogs think is the best time to visit?

Always look for you beautiful flower pictures. The detail and colors are always remarkable! I really like #1, perhaps because it is different from most you post. The contrast of the foreground detail and background fuzziness added to an auroa of color hit me as special. You seem to search for alternate ways to present the images. Masterfully done!

I like #1 if his face and beard were brightened a bit because his expression to me is the most important part of the photo!

When I retired I upgraded my equipment to satisfy my desires to capture better RAW images and took a Lightroom instruction course (twice) to start processing my images and catalog them so I could find and process them at my leisure. I had taken RAW for years before retirement and had saved the images on disks as Raw. I downloaded them into Lightroom and began organizing them. That consisted of over 18,000 images. This took about 6 months but what an education!!! Now I consider myself proficient at it and am now starting to learn Photoshop for some things I can't do with Lightroom. Thouroghly enjoying learning and processing. Hope you will enjoy the "process" too. Shoot only Raw save as Raw In non-destructive program so you can redo any of your best as the softwares improve. You will not be sorry. I am not!! Do only what you enjoy!!

I had this problem a couple of times when the computer automaticly shutdown when I left it on while going to eat or had a long distraction during work. For some reason when I opened the catalog the next time it opened an older catalog that didn't contain the latest photos. Search for catalogs to open when you log on and see if the exist in the other catalog. If you find that one, then rename it with a unique name and in preferences chose the catalog to open each time you log on. Only takes a second to make sure which catalog you are opening. Hope this helps! Drove me crazy for a while and happened three times to me but no problem since I changed the things I mentioned.

You might consider Great Sand Dunes National Park. Best time might be late afternoon to sunset so the sun is at your back and some shadows on the dunes. Also found some isolated abandoned houses with open spaces around them that made a good setting for photos.

I have the Lowpro 400 magnum. Very versatile and can be used with two rollers, or as a backpack plus it fits in the overhead on the plane. I quickly ran out of space with the smaller bag. Hold lots of gear!
