What are you going to gain by a new body? Is your current one wore out? I bought a D800 used last year and am still shooting with it today. I got it to make the jump to full frame and better low light shooting. You need to ask yourself if this is GAS.

I have no desire to go to a place that has been shot a billion times. It would mean nothing to have this in my portfolio at this point. The commercialization of this place will be its downfall. I do nothing in tours such as this anymore. We can thank Peter Lik and social media for this.

Without a doubt Corel Paintshop Pro. They had a special for 35 bucks do not know if it is still on. Use it all the time and no pain of monthly ransom fees.

The is a world out there beyond Photoshop.

As expected, this "conversation" is getting nowhere fast. Why even bother making a post like this?

straight out of cameras is good.but you should know that the current DSLR cameras do their own editing through their computers.so it is not exactly straight out of the cameras.even during the film era, the portrait photos were touched manually before it was handed over to the customers.one great photographer once said that editing makes a good photograph better.so one has to get a good photo to start with.the one exception to editing is photo journalism.

Exactly no such thing as SOOC unless it is a RAW file and we all know they require edits.

I like the saturation of the image. I too prefer this over the "reality" as some are saying. It is your image to process as you see fit. Some are not creative and treat photography as journalists do. I like art and enjoy seeing what people create. SOOC people are a strange bunch in my opinion.

We all have styles and tastes that differ from others but it is the ones who insist their way is the best that bug me to no end. No vision and close mindedness will stagnate your photography quicker than anything else.

Absolutely beautiful. You have a great eye that results in great images. I was hoping I would see the old covered bridge near Winterset. :)

Thank you for the kind words, appreciate them and from all the rest who commented. I don't want to flood the thread with more thank you's but appreciate them all.

I made three late week trips last month chasing Autumn around the state of Iowa. On those trips I traveled 1200 miles in a north to south direction. These are a few I liked. All are HDR with the exception of the night barge shot. I was out of my niche on that one as I seldom shoot at night but it came out good. All images shot on Nikon D800. Posted for all to enjoy.

I thought this scene was a nice composition with the bridge over Mayne's Creek and the beginning of Autumn colors.

My thought exactly. OEM companies want your 💰 and will price accordingly.

Got a Ford (insert car choice here) do you use only Ford batteries? If not then I would be it comes down to cost. People have to remember you pay for brand names. Ford does not make their own batteries but they pay a premium to have their brand attached to them.

This cost is passed onto the consumer in higher prices and extreme mark-ups. Companies make a larger profit on accessories and many people are brand loyal no matter the cost. This is why many car dealers sell branded oil filters. They are not any better than Fram. If Fram were inferior they would not be in business long same with any non OEM products.

Get in a fender bender and see if most insurance companies get you OEM parts. Most will not.

How many here use OEM phone cords or chargers only?

Why would you ask the same question 3 weeks later? Are you expecting better answers? Google each camera that peaks your interest and decide on customer reviews and pick one. Then again you could ask in another 3 weeks just in case...
