Blackhorse, - - - When the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds arrive in town Tipp City, OH (Dayton International Airport) every year for the Dayton Air Show they fly very low over the surrounding areas to announce their arrival and they practice their maneuvers over these same areas on Thursday and Friday before the Airshows on Saturday and Sunday. Never heard of anyone around here complaining, except when they don't get their cameras out in the backyard fast enough! A couple years ago a Blue Angel came screaming over the trees towards my garage door and pulled that baby straight up into a vertical climb; beautiful! I think My Wife spilled Her tea. I will go through My files and post it if you like.

Of course they fly low over populated areas where they are performing. But there is a great difference between 10 feet AGL (above ground level) and 100 feet AGL. Most folks could not tell the difference as everything is fast and seems so low. All that I was saying is that when the US teams fly very low they are over water, and that the crazy low pilots in the video appear to be Russian and NOT US.

The video is not of US Blue Angels. Most were Russian jets flying where the folks speak Russian...watch the video again and you will clearly hear Russian words spoken. In two of the clips, you can clearly see soldiers in Russian uniforms. Low altitude flights by the Blue Angels are conducted over water, and not over populated urban areas. Also, several of the aircraft are Soviet era types.

Hutchinson Island is a barrier island stretching a narrow 23 miles between the cities of Fort Pierce to the North and Stuart to the South. It is actually located in Central Florida in the East coast. Toward the East it faces the Atlantic Ocean while toward the West it has the Indian River.

Hutchinson Island has an abundance of wildlife and beautiful beaches in addition to many places to see and local restaurants. It is a very popular vacation spot during our winter months and the weather tends to be very pleasant the whole year due to the ocean breeze that cools our hot summers.

Between April and September the island serves as the home to a turtle migration , I believe there are five species of them who come to lay their eggs in the sand. They are all well protected and local authorities place marks near their nests so that the public will be aware of their presence.

These are images I made there a couple of years ago while visiting. I used my Nikon D610 and two lenses, the 1974, 50mm f1.4 Nikkor S (single coated) and the 70-210 f4-5.6 AF. My tripod is a cheap Dolica aluminum tripod that I fitted with a Linhof ballhead.

I was not aware of the rock formation along the coast near Stuart as shown in the third image, I was guided there in an early morning in April. For that shot I used the Nikon 12-24 f4. Some of the images were enhanced using Topaz Adjust AI.

I use the Minolta 24-105 lens on my Sony A7II with the LA EA-4 adaptor. It's simply a fantastic lens; exceedingly sharp with great colors and in near mint condition and paid $90.00 for it. It is better than any other lens in this range.
