Thanks. It was a lot of fun experimenting with different lenses and shutter speeds. I definitely learned a lot on this shoot.

Outstanding!! You don't need no stinkin' mirrorless camera to improve on these!! Every one of them should be mounted on a wall!!!

Thanks for looking and commenting. For sports, bif, etc, I will keep my D-500 for a lot of reasons including a crop sensor. My wife and I travel a lot so I know I'll appreciate the light weight of the Z. I think I've read every revue. Anxious to try it. Appreciate the positive comments. It means a lot from another photographer.

Nicely done! Several shots confirm what Edison demonstrated after considerable effort -- that horses do indeed have all 4 hooves off the ground simultaneously when in full stride.

Wouldn't Edison have found today's camera technology amazing? Thanks for checking them out!

Thanks Joe. Appreciate you checking them out. I was tempted with the Veuve Cliquot knowing I had a fast auto focus! 😁

I love polo matches. The athleticism of the horses and riders is amazing. I especially like #8. A beautiful intimate study that many photographers overlook in favor of action.

Thanks. I found myself always looking around for exactly that. Shots others may miss. Appreciate your comment.

I was able to secure media credentials to shoot my polo match at the International Polo Club near Palm Beach, Florida. It was not only a tremendous learning experience but a lot of fun. I wanted to capture the beauty of these magnificent ponies as well as their competitiveness on the polo field. As I stood shooting from the sidelines, I was overwhelmed with their athleticism. Most of my shots were with the Nikon D500 and a 200-500mm lens. A couple with the D-850 w/70-200 2.8. Overall, for my first attempt, I was pleased with these and can't wait to go back and experiment with other settings. I have a Z7ii on order and can't wait to try mirrorless.

A quick trip to NYC and captured a few shots. All handheld with Nikon D850 and various lenses. Certainly a challenge to get different images. It was a lot of fun. Wish I had more time.

Very nice and a bit different from what is usually shown.

Thanks for checking them out Vick. My favorite is my wife in the infinity pool. Not because I like the composition, lighting or colors. Yes, this was planned and posed. This image was on her dream list for many years. It's my favorite because I was just happy to make her dream become a reality. We all have favorite photos for lots of different reasons. I know you can appreciate that. You have beautiful images.

Excellent portraits of this iconic structure. Now you will have to go back in 2024 when the Eiffel Tower will be displayed in gold for the Olympic Games.

Interesting. While there on a tour, the guide informed us that while they're calling it 'gold', it actually comes out about the same color as always.

Very, very nice series. I would think that would also be a great town to walk about in for street photography.

You are correct. Early one day we just walked the streets. Love the wide roads, bike paths, outdoor cafes, people, building architecture, bridges and riverboats. Great city. We found the people warm and friendly.

Thanks for the memories.
You did a great job capturing the light show.
We stayed in the nearby Pullman Hotel and I tried my best to exceed my 6D's estimated shutter count, grin.
I tried (almost) EVERY SS/F-Stop combo that I could think of.
And I'm glad that I did.
Police?? Well, the number of folks with DSLRS, Compact Cameras, and phones ALL pointed at the tower at ANY time (day/night) was amazing.
We even saw wedding parties being photographed using the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.
Have lunch in the Eiffel Tower and you will never be the same.
Thanks, you made me . . .

Thanks for the memories. br You did a great job ca... (show quote)

Thanks and glad you liked them. If I remember I used a low ISO and my exposure was around 25-30 seconds. The lens was a Nikon 24-70, 2.8. Trying to get shots without anyone in them was certainly a challenge. Never saw police monitoring anyone with a camera. We originally planned to have lunch in Jules Verne but we ran out of time. The view from the top was fantastic. Thanks for checking them out!

Hi Rob. Really nice set. You might enjoy some similar approaches used when I visited Tokyo and shot some of the original Tokyo tower. The weather was not as cooperative as desired, but you can see that we had similar views. By the way, you will see both the β€œnew” and original Tokyo tower. The one that resembles the Eiffel Tower is the original one. Best. JimR.

Very similar views and close to the same time of day. Nice shots. I was in Tokyo many years ago but at the time I was shooting video tape. Really prefer shooting DSLR. This was our longest vacation of 30 days visiting 3 countries, 4 islands and a transatlantic cruise back to the US. Great trip and photo opps everywhere. Thanks for checking them out.

Beautiful set! Surprised you were able to get the night shots. I thought Paris Police were actively discouraging night shots due to a copyright issue.

Thanks for the compliment. I wasn't aware of that and maybe that helped. I tried to find a spot where there was very little traffic. Never saw police. Maybe they were more concerned about people wearing masks

While in Paris, my goal was to shoot the Eiffel Tower during the day as well as the blue hour. Timing and location were a challenge but for the most part, I was pleased with the results. Tried to get some different angles. Always experimenting, always learning.
