Thank you, Dave. I did try metering off the foliage too, but as you noted, the sun was blown out. It's just tricky, and maybe it's not possible to get it perfect in camera. I'll practice your advice on taking a range of images at various exposures. Thanks much, for commenting.

You could always take one or two images with your camera set on auto ISO and P program if its a Canon so your allowing the camera to choose its own settings, similar settings for other makes, using these images as a start and adjusting the settings from there.

Who would let work stop them from posting here?
Seriously, can understand why might not have, just seen a few posts asking for help where it looked like the real intent was to start an argument. And they were all op single posts.

More than likely went to attend to his sheep or to shoot a kangaroo lol

if you use an icc profile matched with your printer, the paper of your choice and your ink the results can be outstanding, far better than just printing normally. As a profile matched with everything else, eliminates over inking, prevents bronzing and ensures more prints are obtained from your ink that a non profiled printer will produce. Most quality paper manufacturers/ retailers will profile your printer for free if you buy their paper. Buy a test pack get some profiles done and the world of quality printing will be available to you. The only question remaining will be, which paper do I use for which type of image. I use Fotospeed papers and profiles from www.fotospeed.com

Some people "earn" their living, some are very clever some are just inept. I was on holiday in Morocco last year, I wanted to buy a real leather wallet from a street vendor, he had no change, so he said see the old lady begging nearby for change, I did, you never saw such a huge wad of notes, that this beggar produced. She was scruffy very poor looking but seemed very wealthy, maybe the moral in the story is, most of us would be better off learning to be beggars than workers.

Hello,

I have LR6 on Mac. I am trying to print images form recent vacation with Epson R3000. I choose 4x6 format, page setup 4x6 and the image comes out shrunk as per attached example. The aspect ration on camera is set correctly for normal prints. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

I find switching to Photoshop and printing from there is easier than printing from Lightroom and it is easy to export to Photoshop from within Lightroom

My biggest complaint about the UHH website - someone asks a question on a specific topic and others hijack the conversation and the next thing you know the discussion revolves around a completely different subject. Totally disconcerting.

Three reasons for that, one could be those that do this hijacking have not enough compos mentis to start their own topic or two they do not understand the topic or three and I believe the largest reason, trouble makers, they just like to see the fur fly, Nikon v Canon, Sigma v Tamron are two of their favourites. Mind you they can be entertaining at times !!

No Salmon, Walleyes are a member of the perch family. Some people call them Walleye Pike, but they are not in the Pike family. You can Google, Google knows everything.

Thank you, they are indeed according to Google a member of the pike/perch family.which are not related to our pike family. We either have pike or perch . People here don't eat the pike as a rule, but you obviously eat your walleyes. You say you caught your quota, so your limited to how many fish you take home? Thanks

The guy asks for an opinion on Lee and Cokin, which he has got if you cannot add something to add to help him, then go play with your camera. If the Lee Big Stopper has a blue colour cast where is it on the image I sent, may be yours has, does not mean all Lee Big stoppers have a blue. cast> I have seen Hitec 10 stoppers with a blue cast too, it does not mean they all have. Lets see one of your blue cast images !!!!

Exactly what I was looking for, many thanks for your insight and examples!

Another question I forgot to add earlier, have you all noticed a big difference with the resin vs. glass filters?

The Lee glass ones are a little heavier but seem substantial but don't drop them. Other wise both types clean okay. in the 1st image I used the magenta cast to good effect to enhance the sky, so sometimes the cast helps.

I'm looking at investing in one of these systems, but would like to hear from folks about the pros and cons of each and your preferences. Thanks

After using Cokin filters for a couple of years and getting some great results. The problem I had was stacking filters (up to three at a time) produced magenta or purple casts, with Cokin which sometimes helped and sometimes did not. See image.
just recently I moved to Lee filters I have three graduated density and a 10 stopper, no colour cast, but have to be careful as they are glass unlike the Cokin. But you can feel and experience the different quality in the Lee, mind you so is the difference in cost. What I like about the Lee is the absolute clarity of the images even with three filters stacked. Lee must be the go to eventually!!

cokin filtered magenta colour caste helped with sky

lee filtered 256 seconds no colour caste

I has a similar problem in trying to download Lightroom 6, I had three techs. that either could not be bothered or thought every pc user is a whizz kid and I'm not and I suspect a lot of my generation are not either. Eventually a tech took control of my PC remotely, found the files I had downloaded were not complete or corrupt, cleared them away and hey presto Lightroom 6 works. My advice to any one having problems with Adobe phone support, would be make enough fuss enough times and some one who knows his stuff, will eventually get to you and put a smile on your face.
