In the UK Police drivers have to drive with due care and attention and in a manner that is not dangerous to the public or other drivers.
They would never get a ticket for going through a red light if the above is taken into account. Obviously if there is no other traffic about or it has stopped, this is not a problem. However if there is a collision or someone is injured the officer may by prosecuted for reckless, dangerous or careless driving according to the circumstances. Going though a red light would form part of the evidence, but there would be no red light ticket involved if the officer was attending an emergency.

A better question is, “Why did anyone ever say anything in the first place to someone who sneezes?

My grandson is a pilot and his company ordered a number of the Boeing 737 Max planes. Prior to delivery he was given an A4 sheet of paper outlining the very few issues pilots would need to know about.
Following the two crashes, the planes were not delivered. After the lengthy enquiry and modifications his company took delivery of the planes. However, the A4 sheet of paper had been replaced by two days of simulator training.

Oppenheimer was shot with 70mm IMAX cameras, but there are only 30 theaters in the country showing it in 70mm. This had led to ticket scalping with people paying as much as $75 for resell tickets. San Francisco has the largest IMAX theater west of the Mississippi, so the tickets are very much in demand. I started trying to get a ticket a week before it opened and I got one for August 8. I remember years ago seeing a restored 70mm version of Laurence of Arabia, and the image quality was amazing.

I think that was known as ToddAO or something similar.

Self-driving cars won't be ubiquitous until the insurance liability for who is at fault when an accident occurs is resolved. Who pays up when things go wrong?

I have a car with all this fancy stuff on it. A feature I use a lot is the speed limiter. This uses cameras to read the legal speed limit. It also picks up the same information from GPS. It’s undoubtedly saved me from the risk of getting speeding tickets. It’s so easy to miss a change in the speed limit and so reassuring to feel the car slowing down because I’ve failed to spot one. In an emergency and frankly if never encountered one, flooring the accelerator disabled this device.
The point of this though is when you read the handbook it makes it clear that the use and outcome of using these devices is entirely the responsibility of the driver and the company accepts no responsibility for any outcome of their use.

I too have been banned from posting reviews. However they ask for my opinion on the actual deliveries. I respond that every delivery was horrible. Not gonna help them in any way.

That’s a bit unfair if the delivery guy has done a good job and is now getting berated by Amazon for poor service just because you’ve got an issue with Amazon over something totally unrelated.

I kept only those that were not available on iTunes music or other streaming source. The rest I gave to a charity shop that was delighted to have them.

In the U.K. legislation was introduced several years back prohibiting companies from adding any surcharge to the cost a buyer had to pay. Companies that increased the value of
We’re certainly moving quite rapidly to a virtually cashless society.
The big issue of course is that this change promotes the use of credit cards leaving many people with significant debts they often struggle to pay off.

I play loads of golf as do many of my friends in their late 70’s (at least fifteen miles a week). We all say this keeps us fit and as a proportion of the elderly we live longer than most.
Although I have no problems with the time I spend accessing stuff on a computer, I would if I felt it reduced my exercise time and impinged on my health and fitness.
Obviously I do understand that some are unable to exercise at all, but I suspect many that are fit enough don’t.

I understand that the owners of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines have some sort of legal action pending against the company that carried out trips to this New Zealand island. It appears a number of their passengers suffered injuries and some possibly died in this volcanic action.

I guess if this seventy year old woman, in her youth, had spoken to a seventy year old woman she would also have heard a list of how things used to be that would have shocked her.
It’s impossible to stop progress and change, good or bad.

You guys in the USA seem to have serious problems with paperless that we hardly ever encounter in the U.K. As I’m usually out of the country for six months every year, I’d be stuffed without the option of being paperless with outfits I deal with. Over the past years I can’t recall a single problem with it and managed to go paperless with the final company just recently.

Some years ago on a Botswana Safari I was also on a boat on the Chobe river when I saw a buck of some sort trying to escape from some lions. In its efforts to do so it jumped into the river and was immediately taken by a crocodile.
Survival of the fittest and look before you leap were two sayings that came to mind.
Those that have done as many Safaris as I have will realise that there are no ‘good guys’ or ‘bad guys’ out there, it is just nature taking its course and is essential for the survival of them all.

I had heard that thoughts were being given to tranquilising Rhinos and adding a nasty poison to the horn, resulting in the death or severe illness of anyone using any part of the horn. I don’t know if it would work, but if it does it sounds a great idea to me.
