I am about to lie down on the floor weeping. I have spent this entire day searching everyone of my 9 backup drives for my Imac and Macbook. I have a photography that I have printed, framed, and, used on the invitation for my show that opens this weekend! I assumed it was from my trip to Tucson this past May.. but alas, not so! so I have searched and I finally found in a deep dive of the meta data that it was taken at 11:00pm the night of October 25, 2022. It does not say where. I live in Western CT. I was here on that date and for many weeks before..even the month before..
It makes NO sense. I googles for an hour...I spent hours on the phone with a rep a Adobe, and I think he quit his job!
The meta data also indicates the camera serial number which indeed is mine! So thank goodness for that! My daughter says that can happen sometimes.. (but she's talking about on her Iphone).
Can anyone give me any ideas? I am so excited about his picture..I feel like it is one of the very best I've ever shot!

I have always saved all my pictures. I got my first camera when I was 6 years old, that would have been in 1949. I have negatives and prints and slides from then until I quit shooting film in 2020. When I started shooting digital with a 6 MP Kodak pocket camera I continued that practice. Somewhere, on some disk I have the first digital picture I ever shot. Storage was not inexpensive in the early days but I knew it would be important to me later.

My hope was that someday post processing was going to allow me to salvage all those "I almost got it" shots that record important memories that I don't want to loose.

So here we are in 2023, storage is getting cheaper by the day. Post processing software is doing things we didn't even dream about 5 years ago. I now have over 38,000 uncatalogued images most of which I will never look at some of them I will. I will salvage them using all the improvements in Lightroom, Photoshop, Topaz and many others. I will use AI technology with no apology.

Late at night, all alone with a glass of 24 year old Laphroaig Scotch, I will cycle through that magic folder titled "Memories" and relive those earlier days.

This composite is made from 2 AI images generated in Adobe Firefly, both also were edited with generative fill. Multiple textures and overlays, some brush work. I'll add the 2 Firefly images. Thought I'd share.

A friend of mine owns this stunning Ford GT. The 5.0 liter Coyote engine develops 460 hp.


My friend owns a computer shop and I need some work on my laptop, so we agreed that he would do the upgrades to my computer and I would present him with a 16 x 24 print-on-metal of his hot rod. This shot was just for testing as the car was dirty, the sun was all wrong, creating a shadow across the car and the reflections of a local business shows in the side panels.

Next step is to get the car washed and find a suitable location where I can get a clear shot of the car for cutting it out and installing a background which would suit him and enhance the car.

Camera is a Canon M6 mk2 and editing software is Affinity Photo 2.1

Dennis Radermacher, a photographer from Christchurch, took a photo of the tree on a misty June day. That photograph went on to win Dennis the 2014 New Zealand Geographic photograph of the year. From that auspicious debut, the tree became somewhat of a social media celebrity.

The composition is just given. You can stand anywhere and get a nice photo .Day and night there are pilgrims with cameras and I phones trying to create inspired capture of the tree . I came back to Wanaka just to wonder and have a whole set of the "Wanaka beyond the tree " photographs but this post is just about the tree...
