With the official announcement from Sony ( http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666485827#compatability ) of the features of the A99, do you think it warrants the price increase over the A77?

Anyone around the Raleigh North Carolina area know of a good camera store?

The Wolf camera stores in the malls by me already closed and when they had their discount of 20 to 30 percent, lens and camera bodies were not included.

Thanks madcapmagishion. A good update.
Wolf/Ritz has been in Bankruptcy for some time now. It is a sad legacy of very poor and greedy management.
I would not buy anything they sell thru liquidation as 90% of it was overpriced junk. I expect to see much of it re-appear on e-Bay by enterprising individuals.

Ahhh! But that 10% thats not junk may be a good opportunity for some, like Nikon or Canon lenses! :D

I know this is addressed to MT Shooter, but if I could pipe in for a moment. The only problem (on a W7 computer) that I had was the graphics card was not compatible with CS6 (it did work with CS5). The solution was to go back to the old setting and not use the updated Mercury Engine. I am getting a new graphics card next week, one that is compatible with the Mercury Engine.

MT Shooter - I just ordered the upgrade from CS5 to CS6. Have you had any negative issues with CS6? Some time ago I read that some folks were having problems.

Thanking you in advance for your reply.

I agree with what everyone has said and would add that these photos are much better than yesterdays as far as composition and interest.

I would like to invest in a digital picture frame. However, many of the products I have looked at play to mixed reviews.
Is anyone using a digital frame and are pleased with the product?
Thanks

I may be mistaken and forgive me if I am, but couldn't you also do this in CS5 using content aware fill. I started with CS4 then went to CS5 and now I am on CS6.

While playing with the new features in Photoshop CS6 I discovered a wonderful tool called "Content Aware Move". It will allow some great adjustments to items within an image and will be a wonderful tool to use on older pics that you just couldn't correct properly. But in playing with it I discovered a potentially disturbing feature.
Watermarks are no longer safe! With this tool you can download someones image and simply remove the watermark by moving it to an unobtrusive area of the image, and removing it with a clone tool or cropping. Its scary to think all a thief has to do now to secure a stolen image is easily remove a watermark and/or add their own. Image security has a new enemy in the one tool that we all long for to secure our work. Or so it would seem.

Pome by Robert Burns, picture by me. Shot with a Sony A77 and Sigma 90mm macro lens. Processed through Photoshop CS6 and OnOne software. What is your opinion of the art?

A rose is an art in itself

On today’s posting I like "Clothes drying on bamboo scaffolding outside a public shower area". The composition, depth of field and contrast are good. This picture also conveys a story and the colors are balanced to keep the eye running up and down the focal point. The other images are mostly flat (good pictures but lack in photographic art), as an example the peppers for sale photo is plain, the composition does not keep your eyes focused on the picture and on the peppers roasting the background is distracting, open the aperture more to get better background.

thanks Bruce. If you had to pick which one would you say is the best. Any suggestions on composition angle,etc..I think you might ones from today. stay tuned.

And a good high end graphics card or you loose out on the processing engine that was redesigned to make CS6 fast. If you load a picture in CS6 and you see your picture with part of the background showing you would need to change the options in property:

Do I understand that CS6 is not compatible with max osx 10.5.8 and one has to have a later operating system mac osx 10.6 + ? Anyone know this.

It is not just the operating system. CS6 for the Mac needs a computer with a multicore Intel CPU with 64-bit support as well as Mac OS X v10.6.8 or later.

Took the picture with a Sony A77 and Sigma 90mm macro lens at F4 SS 2000/sec ISO 200. Hand painted in CS6 glowed in OnOne and finished with oil-paint in CS6.
