After reading all of the posts I wonder if wiping a little WD40 on the threads with your finger before mounting the filter will keep it from becoming stuck. I'm sure this will elicit a lot of discussion on the subject.

The last thing I would ever put on a lens or a filter is WD-40. I don't want that stuff anywhere near my cameras.

No one wants a scathing review on "RipoffReport.com."

Use "ripoffreport.com" at your own risk. I got warnings of "Ransomware is on this site" when I took a look at it. You don't want Ransom-Ware on your computer.

Before i try something drastic to remove circ polarizer filter from lens can anyone make some suggestions? It has always been tight, but this time no go. Thanks!!

This seems to be a frequent problem. I try to only buy B&W filters from B&H Photo. Besides being excellent filters using multi-coated German optical glass, the mounting ring is made out of brass that is softer than aluminum and will help prevent stuck filters. I also don't over-tighten filters on the lens. Just snug-tight is tight enough.

Batteries Plus sells the replacement battery. The Duracell 625.

Thanks, I've been through all that. The 625's are 1.5 volt batteries and don't hold their voltage making the older light meters erratic. It takes two 1.35 volt mercury batteries that hold a constant voltage throughout their life. I tried some Wein batteries from China in it from B&H but they must have been old stock because they only put out 1 volt each. The meter requires a constant 2.7 volts for reliable readings.

Bought new in the late 60's to go with my Nikon F and Nikkormat and never used. It has been stored with my camera stuff since then with the
batteries removed from the meter. The meter is cosmetically in perfect condition and includes the original leather case, manual, and leather neckstrap. The manual says it requires 2 Mallory PX 13 Mercury batteries that are not made anymore and the internet says they are rare and hard to find. It has been dormant without batteries for 47 years. $25 plus shipping, sold as-is.

Apparently, you have a misunderstanding of how the ignore list works.

What don't I understand?

"This page shows users in your ignore list.
Ignored users can't send you private messages and can't post replies in your topics. You will also not see their topics in Newest Topics or Active Topics lists and in the digest."

I would be reluctant to using "glass polishing products" on expensive filters. You will probably destroy the multi-coatings used on most good filters.

I doubt that it will have any noticeable effect on your photos. Many photographers with more experience than me say minor scratches on a filter won't have any effect on your photos. But I'm glad the scratch is on your filter rather than on your expensive lens.

What are the reasons why you wouldn't go FF?

Just for amusement, read this article on what you will (or will not) gain by going to full-frame.

Another vote for the D3300 over the D3400 for all the reasons listed above.
You can still buy a brand new one with their excellent little 18-55mm. kit lens for $446. This is a tremendous bargain.

I had a package from B&H that was scheduled for delivery one day last week by FEDEX. Got a confirmation on my phone that the "Package has been delivered" at 3:10 PM, which was about 15 minutes prior to getting the message. I went out and looked on my front porch....no package in sight. So based on prior experiences with FEDEX I went to my neighbor's houses on both sides of me. Sure enough, on one of my neighbor's porches there was my package and another package that was addressed to my wife. I called FEDEX and tried to submit a complaint on their "Chat Line". The agent I talked to said "There is nothing I can do". I have had similar experiences with FEDEX and UPS. The drivers are in such a hurry they don't take time to confirm the address before tossing the package.

I love this forum, but there sure are a lot of db’s who reply with sarcasm and snarky replies. Kinda takes away from the forum. So my call to arms for everybody else who’s sick of the troll responses: from now on when somebody answers rudely, respond to them with “thanks for nothing, troll.”

So true. The few pathetic individuals that get their pleasure from demeaning others on the forum are just looking for a reaction from others to confirm their own pathetic existence. I would recommend clicking on their username and putting them on your Ignore List. You will never hear anything from them again.

The original poster asked a legitimate question because UHH is populated with incredibly knowledgeable members.

In fact, they offered the kind of help that he wanted---with the exception of your waste of space.

Well said.

If your grandchildren are young take some earplugs for them to wear. I took one of my grandsons to the Ft. Worth show and during the Blue Angels fly-over he freaked out with his hands over his ears because young children have very acute hearing and the loud noise hurt his ears. We finally had to leave to stop his crying.
