Hi Hoggers, this is Mark on my wife's profile page. She forgot to log off and I'm too lazy to put everything on mine...so...my wife and I just got back from a road trip to see my son in northeastern Oregon and here's a few from our trip. This area of Oregon is very pretty and with the blackberries ripe and abundant, I was in heaven.

Very nice Mark, it is beautiful country. This post seems to have touched some old locals...I was born in La Grande in 1942.

They are, indeed, great thieves! It is cool that you caught this bird in its 'almost adult' plumage.....probably in its third year of a life of crime. Nice work Jan!

Scanned from some old slides.

Beautiful set Mike! I wonder if I will ever get back to this fine country. Several folks have mentioned the look and color of these scanned transparencies, I love the look. You must have a large collection of them. Have you scanned them all?

The Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area, that is. He seems to like hanging out on the side of the freeway (on two different days), which is raised up over a flood plain area. He is a juvenile and really has pretty markings.

Nice Katy! I lived in Woodland and Sacramento as a youngster but never learned to use the Yolo Bypass for birding. Time to start thinking about visits to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuges.
