Ever set out to get a particular shot only to have the scene not happen? Last May I got up very early one morning and headed for my favorite lighthouse to get some dramatic sunrise shot. It soon became evident that the clouds were not right for the explosion of pink I wanted. But I knew the tide was going out so I changed course for another beach I knew had nice tidepools. Eventually the sky took on enough character to make good reflections. Here are some of the unexpected results.

This photo was taken back in 2007 with my 6 megapixel P&S. To this day it remains one of my favorites. One of my more unique shots.

Both are shot I would have taken. In situations like these I check the sky. A few clouds add a touch of interest.

I don't know how it is in Colorado but out here stumps are plentiful. He keeps my girl friend entertained and provides his own food. Best I could negotiate.
