There a tons of photographers who try and post something a little different, who get panned.
I know I am not in the clique, on this site. I don't care. I post for myself and no one else.
I just noticed if it ain't a bird or a flower, there are hardly any replies. If I have offended anyone, tough. I call em as I see em. Tom

You seem a tad defensive. 😾 If you're posting for yourself, why post? I enjoy the UHH forum because of the variety of subjects - everything from bees to snakes to tigers and portraits - even bridges!
An excellent capture of the interesting bridge, tommy. Take off your armor, relax and enjoy the forum. Please show us more of your work!

I have long been appreciative of well shot black and white landscape photography. There are breathtaking landscape photos of the Californian wilderness and Yosemite National Park taken by a photographer in the 1940’s who was a pioneer in photography (can you guess who I am referring to?). This photographer founded the 'Zone System' for creating black and white photos with the best possible tonal range (a style of black and white photography I attempt today).

When I developed prints from a black & white digital captures with the early model digital cameras I shot with, the prints simply just did not have the same character of b&w images I used to print with Ilford 35mm film. However the equipment I shoot with today, as well as the applications I use for post-processing are finally producing some stellar results - IMHO.

Don't know how you created the fence but it's an awesome prop for your feathered friends. Great bird images and the flowers are lovely, Bill.

Interesting treatment, SnapShot. Love the last image. I don't see any reason you can't get a few thousand 💲for any one of these - and I'm serious.

Today, these Wood Ducks came out better than another pair I shot a month ago at

We always look forward to these beautiful little birds returning in the spring, at the beginning of the nesting season. The male is almost always singing and as we work with the flowers in the back yard the sound seems to be very close and it's almost like he is following you! So you peer into the trees, but sometimes it takes quite a while to locate him as he jumps from branch to branch on the leaf- covered limbs. I am including four images, the first two taken on a very old bald cypress tree and the last two on the remains of a gum tree stump which is directly beside the cypress tree.

Thought I'd dig into my flower collection for something a little different. One of these days I may learn how to use some of the creative filters on these kinds of images. For now, I'll settle for ordinary.

As I recall, the last three were shot in RAW and converted to JPEG.

A rose is a rose, is a rose!🌹 What a nice variety, Vicky and excellent captures on each.
