Your post seems to imply you know how big it is? Interesting.

I concur. And having spent a good part of my life on the water, I always try to capture the "meanness" of how water can look when the wind pipes up. You get around 20 knots of heavy air, and the white caps are ferocious, and the water turns much darker. To this day, I have never seen a photograph that can capture the true image that the eyes see. A photograph always makes it look subdued.

Another favorite camera place is Niagara Falls. I don't like milky images. I want to capture on film as close to what my eyes see as I can. The picture below is an example of that. It was taken at Niagara at one of the smaller falls. Please ... NO critique necessary. I already can spot about a dozen things wrong with this pic. It was shot along time ago in AUTO with a P&S before I knew anything about good photography. I post it here only trying to demonstrate what kind of water I want to capture. This photo comes close to what my eyes actually saw. I certainly would not go for the milky type water in this venue.

I*****l A***ns

Just received this in an Email. Sort of re-enforces Trump's point.

Here is number eight US Code 1182, inadmissible aliens.

Law of the land......Did you know this?

In case you you haven’t seen this......

Here is number eight US Code 1182, inadmissible aliens. This law was written in 1952.
It was passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress, House and Senate, and signed by a Democrat president.

"Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by president. Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

All of the pundits that are claiming that what Trump said is dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous, and/or unconstitutional, need to educate themselves. It is already the law of the land. And it was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States, but he actually did more. He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then he deported a bunch. Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States in 1979.

I generally don't like to see silky water pics using an ND filter. I prefer natural nature with spray and ripples and chaos in the flow. Perhaps most stream environments are too dark and freezing spray with a high shutter speed is not an option could explain why the ND option is so popular. If the distances aren't too great, a flash would certainly help.

  Agree nothing about those pics with silky water looks natural to me either

Nuke ISIS. I don't think that is a viable option. The only time you need something like a nuke is when you are trying to destroy extremely large area targets. Unfortunately ISIS just doesn't present itself as a large target. In most cases just small cells. Where there are some concentrations of them conventional bombs will do the job nicely. Problem is they like to assemble inside an area where there is a large segment of innocent civilians and our moral character prevents us from bombing there. That reminds me so much of Viet Nam. The problem is that so many of those so call innocent civilians are ISIS sympathizers. Unfortunately we can't be sure who is and who isn't and so man times we just don't act.

lol you really have never really grasped this yet. to defeat isis you will have to round up every muslim from around the world. even half breeds an more. an nuke to destroy isis. but even after that you still haven't splintered the ideology. lol

Ever wonder why almost every case of terrorism somehow is related to Muslims? No wonder people are suspicious. I know there are some good Muslims but I understand why many people feel the way they do.

President Barack Obama slammed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Wednesday for the p**********l hopeful’s statements that he would empower law enforcement to “patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods“ in the wake of the deadly terror attacks in Brussels.

“I just left a country that engages in that kind of neighborhood surveillance, which, by the way, the father of Sen. Cruz escaped for America, the land of the free,” Obama said during a press conference in Argentina, referring to his historic trip to Cuba earlier this week.

He said the proposal “makes absolutely no sense” and goes against basic American values.

The Republican p**********l candidate, a Cuban-American, has been deeply critical of Obama’s strategy to destroy the so-called Islamic State. He said Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels were more evidence that Obama needs to address the root of the problem.

“It is way past time we have a president who will acknowledge this evil and will call it by its name and use the full force and fury to defeat ISIS,” Cruz said in a press conference on Tuesday. “Until they are defeated, these attacks will continue. Their target is each and every one of us.”

“We need a president who sets aside political correctness,” Cruz insisted. “We don’t need another lecture about Islamophobia.”

Cruz’s comments drew fire from Muslim advocacy groups, Democrats, the police commissioner of New York City and even one of his rivals for the GOP nomination, Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Obama also criticized proposals to bomb ISIS positions in Syria and Iraq indiscriminately. Cruz has called for “carpet bombing” terrorists, a strategy that would endanger civilians.

“We don’t go and blow something up just so we can say that we blew something up. That’s not a military strategy,” Obama said.

And I wonder what those stats would look like if it were truly optional instead of mandatory or else suffer a penalty. Hey I could mandate buying a load of manure every six month an sell that idea if I attached a penalty if you didn't comply.

New data from a variety of government sources demonstrates that the gains in insurance coverage since Obamacare was fully implemented are more a result of the law, than economic recovery.

Under ‘‘Obamacare,’’ the share of Americans without health insurance has dropped to a historic low of about 9 percent, with room to go even lower. But even as the economy has expanded, major government surveys point to a lackluster rebound for employer-based coverage.
‘‘It’s very clear that the Affordable Care Act has done most of the work in decreasing the number of uninsured,’’ said economist Robert Kaestner of the University of Illinois Chicago.
For example, the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey found about 3 million gained employer coverage between 2010 and 2014, but the number of uninsured dropped by 10 million, with the strongest gains coming from Medicaid coverage. Additionally, the National Health Interview Survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified essentially flat employer coverage in the four-year period, with 12.6 million more people with health insurance. Finally, the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey "found no statistically significant change in the number of people covered by employers from 2013 to 2014," but identified 9 million no longer uninsured.

That means that a lot of people got coverage from Obamacare. It didn't ruin the economy, and it didn't k**l jobs. Go figure. Obamacare has already faded as a campaign issue in this ridiculous campaign season, and for good reason. It's working. People like it. Republicans have absolutely no clue what to do to replace. It's time to stop talking about repealing it and time to talk about improving it.

That pic of the Thompson reminds me of when in Vietnam I traded a couple case of beer for one from a couple of special forces guys. Just had to have that gun. Then after I got it I realized as a helicopter pilot probably the only time I would need something like that is if I was shot down. I considered the weight of the gun and ammo and decided a M2 carbine would be a better choice.

I remember that UH-1B instrument panel. Flew them in the Army Flt. School at Ft. Rucker and our gun ships in the 117th Avn. Company in Qui Nhon, Vietnam in 1964-65. A lifetime ago. Thanks for the memories.
