I agree. I ama Pentax shooter, have several of their WR lenses. Have seen their videos about how water and dust resistant their lenses are. But when the weather turns bad, I slip a condom on my camera and lens. Why take chances?
I wish they had included the Pentax K-1.
Regarding the Feds- The main difference between intelligence and stupidity is that, at least intelligence has limits.
And this topic does not begin to touch why Congress has used the SS Trust Fund to finance deficit spending for decades!
I have refused to buy any Apple product since they declined to help the FBI break into the phones used by 2 terrorists who murdered handicapped children in CA.
Way back when I subscribed I used the pages to line my parakeet cage.
I agree about Ansel A. I could not stand on a 5 foot ladder and kiss his arse as a photographer. I used a 4x5 in the film days. It was lighter than my 645Z but always required a lot of carry along supplies. About Canon, they make as fine a dslr as anyone, and ,no slight on Nikon, there is a reason they lead the world in sales (spoken by a Pentax guy!).
I like my Pentax 645Z and use FA lenses.
All modern era Pentax lenses-both APSC and FF have a built in rectangle built in at the bottom of their hoods. But if one has fat fingers, it is still difficult to turn the polarizer. Also remember that a polarizer also blocks stray light well.
I'll put in a plug for my favorite, ACDSee, which I have used for 11 years. Have tried many others including the 2 Gold Standards. Am currently using Photo Studio Pro 2018. It does everything and more than I normally use. And, if you have a question, they can be contacted either by phone-and speak to a tech- or by email. They have monthly tutorials and videos to help you get going. Last, but by no means least, they are quite reasonably priced and will send you an installation disc. They do not gouge you every month, and will even sell to you at an overseas address.
Although I do not do it, I am not opposed to hunting. Nor do I oppose gun ownership by properly vetted, stable citizens. Unfortunately many deer hunters like to drink while hunting and I think that is mostly responsible for why they shoot one another and innocents or livestock so much.
I have the K-1 and the Special Edition K-5. Had a K-20 for 10 years but gave it away. Had used Canons for 35 years. The Pentax is not in the top 10 list of DSLR selling cameras. I find Pentax to be extremely durable and give photos unsurpassed by any other brand. But I fault no other camera-There are quite good reasons why Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus outsell them, and I am not one to argue with success.
Went there once when I was studying at the U. of New Mexico. Walked into a crowd of Canadian geese. Nearly got "billed" to death before beating a hasty retreat! A wonderful place.
I have bought 5 lenses from them and all have worked perfectly and were in better condition than I expected. I had to return one because I just did not like it, and my money was promptly and fully returned. I will continue doing business with them.
