For my birthday, (July 4) our family went to Eagle River, WI for a few days to go boating, tubing and just enjoying each other. Of course, I took about 900 photos, culled that down to about 175 and then did photo books on Shutterfly, which turned out great. But I would like to take one of the family photos and get it framed in about a 2’ by 3’ format. Can you give me some ideas on where to start this process?

Thank you!

My thanks to all of you who have replied and offered your thoughts. That was just what I was looking for. I’ve spent the past few days reviewing videos, and I think I’m set on getting the 15 MacBook Air. Again, thanks for your replies.

I’m seriously thinking about buying a new computer, specifically the Apple 15 inch MacBook Air. So, looking for some help/ideas from someone who has made this purchase.

I’ve watched a number of YouTube videos on the new Photoshop Beta Generative system. My grandson asked me to come to his soccer game to take some shots. I was very lucky to catch his game winning header, but I also thought I would try to do a shot using the Beta program. I’m sure there is much more that I can do to improve the shot, but my grandson loved it, so I guess that’s all that matters.

I’m going to be in Bradenton, FL, from mid-March to mid-April. I would be interested in hearing any suggestions for places to see and photograph. I’ll be staying at an RV campground with my class B RV, so I will have quite a bit of flexibility in driving around the area. Thanks in advance!

Tomorrow I’m going to take some shots of a family of 8. The family includes 4 adults, and 4 kids of 10, 9, 4 and 2 years old. I will be using a gray backdrop. But, I’m curious as to how to position everyone. Open to any ideas. Thank you!

Ed, I have been using Walgreens for 5-6 years, and I’ve been very happy with the product, as is my family. I do the 12 x 12 calendar that allows me to put several larger shots on the top, and smaller ones at the bottom. I pay about $26 per calendar. Having used that system for awhile, I find it pretty easy to upload photos and plug in the shots I want to use. In past years delivery was free and within about a week of submission. They have other sizes, as well.

These are really good! I went to the second football photo and zoomed in on the face of #4. Priceless!

At my last colonoscopy, I was all hooked up and could easily see the video screen. I said to the Doctor that it would be great if I could watch some of the procedure. He said “Sure!” Well, he got started, and I said: “Oh, I felt that.” The next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room!

I'm kind of your polar opposite. My grandson plays Junior hockey, and I take photos of him and as many of his teammates as I can. I try to keep up so that I don't miss anyone. I generally take 80-150 photos per game, and post them on my Flickr account. I've had many of the parents thank me for doing this, as most of the kids are living with billet families and their parents don't get to see them play.

John, I tend to do what you do. I am literally the old guy (74) standing at the end of the basketball courts shooting my grandsons’ basketball games. Similar to you, I get around 100 shots per game, try to get at least one action shot of each player, and then post 30-40 on the team’s Facebook page. Parents and players give me the positive feedback to keep going. At the end oft he year I put together a poster that includes one shot of each of the players, and then hand them out at the last game. I feel very comfortable doing home games, but do get a bit nervous doing an away game. But that hasn’t stopped me.

Frank, I went through the same process a few months ago. I shoot with a D500, and do a ton of indoor bball games. I ended up purchasing the Tamron 35-150, F2.8-4. I’m sorry I don’t recall the price. It has turned out to be a very good lens for me. The 20-70, and 70-200, which I have, didn’t work for me. I will typically stand at my grandsons’ offensive end of the court-and then switch at halftime. With the 35, I can get wide enough, and the 135 allows me to zoom in anywhere on the court. The team has a Facebook page, and I will post up to 50 shots after each game. The players and families really enjoy it, as do I.

I will be arriving in Big Bend National Park this coming Monday. (I bought a class B RV-and am taking my first road trip with it.) I’m very interested in your suggestions for photo opps at the park-drives and/or hikes. Regarding hikes, I’m probably capable of easy to moderate hikes around 4 miles or so—73 3/4 years old. Thank you!

Does anyone have any recommendations for large electronic photo frames? I want to wall hang a photo frame, and thinking of something about 16" x 24". Any great finds or ones to avoid? I see that Netgear has the "Meural" frame and Lenovo has the "Smart Frame". I'd like to hear any feedback on either of those ot any others. And any info on how are the photo loaded, cable, wifi, SD card? Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

I have a Pixstar, which is 11 1/2 x 14 (outside measure), and I really like it. Although maybe too small for what you are looking for. All photos are uploaded through an account with Pixstar, and I found it very easy to use. I have hundreds of family and travel photos uploaded.
