Yes, weight will certainly be a factor in my decision. Thanks
Thanks everyone. Appreciate the responses.
I was thinking that coupled with a D7100, I would effectively have a 150-600.
Greetings,
I'm normally a landscape shooter but having recently moved to Florida, I am craving a telephoto to capture the amazing wildlife here. Can't justify the price tag on the Nikon 200-500 so I was considering either tne Sigma or Tamron 100-400. Reading the reviews, both lenses are almost identical including price and features. I have no doubt that both are a little soft at 400. Looking for real world experience from actual users. I'm not entirely sure that most online reviews aren't designed to sell equipment vs the actual truth. The lens will be coupled with a D750 and occasionally a D7100. Thanks in advance!
Polarizer. It not only darkens blue skies it also eliminates reflections to increase color saturation.
Same thing, went from D7100 to D750 with the 24/120. Still use the 7100 for grab and go family shots but for serious work I break out the big boy. First outing with the 750 was Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Zion. Stunning photos! Enjoy!
Greetings,
Looking for some tips on fill flash using the built in with the 7100. I've gone through the settings and come to the conclusion to leave it on standard TTL and then use the flash compensation to achieve a nice balance of shaded subject and bright background light. I have looked through the manual and you tube videos and just getting basic setting information like rear curtain, red eye, etc. I typically avoid flash, especially the built in but sometimes for casual candids with the subject heavily shaded, I would cerainly use it. Any tips or tricks you hoggers use?
Many thanks!
Great article, makes sense. Thanks
Greetings,
I occasionally convert color to BW using Photoshop remove color or desaturate. Results are acceptable but just wondering if there is a distinct advantage to using the monochrome setting in the camera vs post process? Better grey scale maybe? I know I could do some side by side comparisons, but I truly enjoy the comments and expertise of the collective group.
Thanks
I recently upgraded from a full manual Nikon 105 f2.5 with extension tube to a used AF Micro Nikkor 105 f2.8D. Amazon $255. Condition, very good. Arrived in a week, looks brand new to me.
Test results from my D750 revealed excellent results. Tack sharp. Focusing motor a little slow, but once in the macro range the motor responds nicely. Latest 105 micro is $899. Most likely no noticable difference in optics. Just a thought.
Must be Tampa Glow. Don't recommend a tripod, too slow, too many people. Higher ISO and shutter priority is the way to go. Remain mobile at all times. Set up a tripod and someone will walk in front of you, guaranteed, lol. See you there.
Yes. I love the software and the price. I also agree with "take it easy". Do not over do, or your subject will look plastic. Software has a ton of slider adjustments. Have fun.

Just returned from Grand Canyon, Zion and Monument Valley tour. Nikon 750 with 24-120 was all I needed.
