DMF, I'm not sure about any visible guidelines, I only use the full sized 4 x 3 and then crop in post as needed, if needed. The square format was probably the authors preference for his own reasons. John

I have noted the square format, maybe a challenge vs the "35mm" shape. Thanks, Doug

*Square*, is just one of the options. It is easy to shoot in a 2 x 3 format or 16 x 9 or square. I have been using Olympus em5-2 and em1-2 for several years along witth a variety of Olympus and Panasonic lenses, and love the system. John

I agree 100%. But can you even imagine the uproar from all the invested parties if that idea were presented at a national level?

Not only interesting, but a great way to learn BIF tracking skills. Good, sharp photos by the way.

I live about 75 miles from Orr, MN and visit there every other year or so. It will be opening on May 23 this year. Generally the bears are a bit sparse early in the season. The best viewing is during July and early August. here is the current link for the hours and admission. https://www.americanbear.org/contact/hours-of-operation/

I love birds, but this particular bird is probably one of the most destructive bird around. The hole-drilling aspect of their foraging will totally kill Oak, Maple and Birch trees up to about 6" in diameter. I hate the little buggers.

I totally agree with Andy's and gvarner's comments. Don't ever change to mimic we Americans. John

I always have grid lines on my camera viewfinder screens and use them to orient the image correctly, thus seldom have to use the straightening tool in post. John

Obviously, it means straight out of the camera. Take the picture, upload it to a computer, and there it is - straight out of the camera. No mystery. It doesn't matter what the camera does to it. If the camera did no processing, you'd have nothing but thousands of 1s and 0s.

By George, methinks you have it! Well done Jerry.

It's been ages since I rode that train, but it still looks as I recall. Fortunately some good things never change. Thanks for the memories.
