I have been seeing a lot of advertisements for these Scot-e-vest. I like the security aspect but are they bulky and sloppy looking when pockets are full?

I have 3 different kinds. I am a believer in the pickpocket proof concept as there have been attempts but no successes. Mostly I use them not for photography but for carrying many different things like compressed wallet, sunglasses, regular glasses, cell phone, kindle etc. I can wear it onto planes and it is very convenient. Airlines don't look at it as another carry-on. One functions as a windbreaker with removable sleeves.

I also have a pair of pickpocket proof pants from clothing arts which I like allot. I wear the vest or the pants as conditions warrant.

I can't remember the times, and time, I have wasted waiting for people to clear a scene before I would take a pic. Now I try to wait until an unrecognizable person(s) (view of their: back, side, with a hat on, costume, etc.) enters a scene to help me display a scale of size, add color, and movement to a pic. I also sometimes hold a camera firmly on a wall, post, etc. and use slow shutter speed to allow a slight blur of people within a busy scene. Yes, now I embrace what I formerly used to shun. Hmmm, just like in life? Thanks for the free therapy session Doc.

I can't remember the times, and time, I have waste... (show quote)

There have been times when I have been in that situation. I took a number of pictures with the people moving to different positions and then layered the photos in post processing to edit out what I did not want.

I think there is a time and a place for both. If it is old and abandoned I like it with no distractions (people etc.) I like the mystery who lived there? why did they leave? what was their life like? etc. etc.

If it is a restoration or something similar then the perspective is welcome.

Fantastic. I've never been able to take pictures like that as there has always been elbow to elbow people making pictures near impossible.

Be advised that ON1 2019.6 (which is the current version) has CR3 support!

I use lightroom. I like ON1 and thought that I would use it as a backup in case anything happened to LR. However their lack of support for CR3 formats changed my plans.

It is called Slideshow 10 Ultimate. Does a real nice job. It allows both jpegs and video including audio media... Try the free trial version...

This looks really interesting. On paper it looks like an outstanding replacement for Slideshow Gold or Pro. Especially if the rumors are true of them going out of business.

Thanks for the great rundown on the area...not sure about the lobster rolls, but will definitely have a couple of lobsters for you...hope you like them....

You will be sure about the rolls when you have them.

Try The Crab Shack - on the main drive. Their New England Clam chowder is the Best also.

You can't miss it it there is always a line.

There are quite a few manufacturers that have not yet supported CR3 format. The answers that I am seeing is that Canon is not supplying enough information for them to decrypt the format and allow editing within their applications. On1 Raw and others fall into that category. So I would suggest that you research what is currently supported before you purchase.

Why Canon is making it so difficult is beyond me. Seems like they would benefit from making it easier to incorporate new formats in the various applications.

Check out FoCal completely automatic but last checked works for Nikon and Canon only. I have it and it works great.

I do not deny your comments but at the same time I don't think I am missing the point. I was actually hoping that it would work as normal on my EOS R with the adapter. I could have lived with manually setting the camera to aps-c mode but I was worried that the constant ticking of the lens trying to stabilize would at some point harm the lens. The exercise was disappointing but I actually came out ahead in many ways except the extended reach.

Currently there are a number of aps-c lenses out there now that with the firmware upgrade and some without work well with the adapter.

Your right of course. I was just my thinking not what I actually meant.

Also I don't believe that all the firmware for each lens can be changed or is economically feasible. In either case I didn't want to wait around especially now that I found my IQ went up exponentially.

I would have waited for a native EOS Zoom but I think that will also be awhile.

For those that have moved to the EOS R and are trying to use EF-S Lenses. I have found that not all non-Canon Lenses are compatible. This is documented in various places but is somewhat non explicit. In my case I had a Tamron 18-270 (B008) that would work ok but would not notify the camera to switch into aps-c mode ( this issue can be mitigated by manually switching to aps-c through the menus.) Additionally it had a problem with IS and it had to be switched to off.

I was not satisfied with the IQ so I decided to look for another FF lens to replace this EF-S (This thanks to the idea being put in my head by CHG Canon). Wound up getting a Canon 70-300 to replace the Tamron. No regrets at all on this unexpected purchase at all.

The point being if you are going to use EF-S lenses with the EOS R make sure they are Canon or are 100%compatible.

LOVE THIS CAMERA! It was bought as a backup but has evolved into a regular carry in places I don't want to carry my DSLR now my EOS R. It has as improved my wife's photography 200%.

My daughter has the G9 II and loves it. Consumers report rates them both in the top 10.

Lucky you. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world. Been going there for over 30 years on business in the beginning now just for pleasure. Architecture, food and sights are all top notch.

Consider the following:
Park Güell
Sagrada Familia
Casa Milà-La Pedrera
Montserrat
Las Ramblas
La Boqeria (On Las Ramblas)

I normally stay in the Gothic Quarter somewhere close to Plaça Reial which is convenient to the Ramblas and general sights.

For getting around and a really good day tour to cover most all the major sights check out Barcelona Day Tours. They won't get you into the Sagrada Familia just all around it, but you can go back another day to do that. They get you into Montserrat and try to time it so you hear the Choir.

If you wake up early and get the Las Ramblas there normally are very few people at that time.
