Norm it doesn't look like there was much to be concerned about. It appeared that the referee had everything under control. Super sharp photo and grand capture of these critters. Nice job.

Ron

Thank you for the kind words Ron. I shot this with a Sony a7r, with a 55mm prime lens. Have a lot to learn since I just recently had purchased this camera setup. Thanks for looking.

was this at a threshing bee by chance ? nice shots !

This was taken at the Central States Threshermans Reunion, held every year just a few miles north of Pontiac Illinois on Labor Day Weekend.. Threshing is done there but most generally they use steamers on them I have a few pictures of that as well. I'll post them in the near future. It is hard to get a clear shot of that process because it always seems to draw big crowds.

Neat shots, Norm!

Thank you very much. Being an old farm boy I can never get enough of this ageless iron. Not sure I would enjoy working with them all day but they sure look nice in pictures.

Cool. I could look at your pics of antique tractors all day. The download has great detail. Wonder what the tie down straps were doing? Was it windy that day?

Not sure why the tie downs where there. Here's a couple more for you

Nice set. I like antique tractors a lot too.

Oh I have pictures of all kinds. Own none myself. I go to numerous antique farm shows every year. Will be posting more.

Great old machine and great photo.

Sure was but I bet she would not be fun to ride and drive today as spoiled most people are.

That old girl looks like she would have been murder to steer! There are just too many people today that would just as soon cart her to a car crusher for a few bucks!

Yes some people would, but thanks to some caring people who love these old things history would be like here today and gone tomorrow. The preservation of these old tractors is very expensive but delivers a lot of satisfaction.

Thank you, not my best but he was just giving me that look and I already had camera in hand. I like cats too but then I like all animals.

Beautiful. I've got a black cat that does that from behind a curtain. It's almost always more dramatic when a black cat is doing the peeking.

Thank you. Our pets can bring some very interesting moments into our lives, can't they?

Thank you for the kind words. I had just recently had purchased the Sony a7r with a 55mm prime lens and have a ton of learning to do since I had been a Canon user for years. Not that I was disenchanted with the Canon products.

Great shot of history fading away. Growing up on a farm, I appreciate the machinery that once was. Dad had a horse drawn mower and hay rake until he bought a John Deer and converted them so they could be drawn behind the tractor. It was my job to ride the mower or rake and make sure the blades of the mower were lifted over any rock or other obstacle in the hay field. I'd make sure the rows of dry hay were raked into neat rows to make picking up the hay fast and easy. Lots of sun, sweat and I'd love to go back to those days again.

Looks like it may have been a Farmall or International tractor.
She could tell some stories, that old girl.
Put the steam traction tractors out of business.

Yes it would be a Farmall and I think it is F-12 model.
