Have the above lens for sale. Bought new, in excellent condition, relatively lightweight, good picture quality. Have front and back caps and third party hood (Vello) which is an excellent fit. Lens has a tripod mount and is stabilized. The lens retracts for carrying and extends for shooting. Because of its weight this lens makes a good long travel lens. I find that I use the Canon 100-500 mm long lens almost exclusively for birding so this lens isn't getting used much.

If anyone has the Canon RF 70-200 f4 lens in excellent condition maybe we could work out a trade plus cash on my end.

Used prices on Ebay vary from 479.00 to 549.00 and may or may not include the hood which does not ship with the lens. Asking 495.00. Sells for new for 799.00. This lens is like new, functions perfectly, have original box. This is not a fire sale.

One potential buyer said this is a speciality lens that photographers don't need. I disagree. This is a lens perfect for birds/wildlife in the distance and BIF in a very lightweight package.

Payment- PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or personal check or cashier check. I will ship when payment clears. You pay shipping.

I set my R5 for single shot on a vacation trip, but now I cannot find how to put it back to continuous shooting. Any help?

I have an R6 and if it is the same go to menu, AF, then AF Operation and then set it on Servo instead of One Shot.

It’s just as I feared. Since I got a decent iPhone I’m using my DSLR less and less. I’ve always been an inveterate snap shooter and the convenience of the iPhone makes me lazy and is limiting my creativity to what the iPhone can capture - which is a lot. The big advantage I have with my DSLR is using flash, indoor and out, on and off camera. iPhone tech isn’t there yet.

The iPhone has an editing program as well as different modes you can use it on such as portraits and lighting modes etc before and after taking the picture. Using the portrait mode on non portrait subjects has the effect of a very shallow depth of field for creative effects. I like to use it on flowers and dogs. Also the editing program has all the basic edits to remove shadows, lower highlights, vibrance, contrast and many more choices. Easy and quick to use. IF you haven't tried it give it a whirl.

I want to print one of these but am having a hard time picking one. I will print it for a 12x12 frame....which one do you like best? Would you change any of the post processing on any of them?

Number one or four- depends on the shape and size of the wall space you plan to put it. Number 4 to me is different enough to grab attention. Most know what an elk looks like but many don't realize the size of its antlers. All are good of course- just my personal opinion :) Also don't stint on the matting and framing- makes a big difference. Show us what you choose and how it looks on the wall after the fact.

It's on Camera Raw too under detail. Takes about 10-20 seconds on my computer and the results are really good. When it has finished it creates a new file that is easy to find.

Have any of you used Zelle for sending money? There are no fees at all. I had never heard of it, but a friend suggested I could use it to send him money. My bank doesn't use it, so I would have to use an app on my cell phone and then a debit card. I don't like using debit cards.

I've used it. Quick and easy.

Good luck with your quest. I just had a reverse right shoulder replacement and I understand pain and limitation although it is short term. The Oly system seems to satisfy many people. However like other systems the camera may be smaller and lighter but the long reaching lenses are still relatively heavy. Canon has released some smaller full frame cameras recently and there are longer reach lenses that are closer to 1.5-2 pounds. That may still be too heavy for you. The other alternatives are bridge cameras as others have mentioned.

How disappointing and the sad thing is your story is repeated over and over by others including me. I have learned not to book flights w short layovers, count on the worse and hope for the best. Take advantage of 24-48 hour layovers and book a hotel during that time to avoid missed flight connections. I have given up international flights for now because all the other complications.
It's a mess for sure and the airlines are not offering compensation for missed connections. Nor even apologies. As long as people are willing to put up with it and continue to travel it will/has become the new business model.

I have a unit made by Cobra. Fits easily in my hand, and works great. My Subaru battery mysteriously keeps losing its charge so I periodically have to jump start the car.

FYI= there is a class action lawsuit forming about Subaru car batteries losing their charge (pre 2021 models). Many many owners are very unhappy about replacing their batteries annually.

In my opinion the best file management system is to faithfully manage the number of images kept. Although I take a lot of pictures I keep only what I think has merit. And I don't keep multiple images of the same thing with small deviations.

Personally I don't use LR either but do use ACR, Bridge, PS. I never could wrap my head around LR's file management system without totally screwing it up many times until I gave it up.

I manage my files by folders and subfolders under Bridge. I don't rename individual files. For example the folder would be "Master Bird File" then classification "Predatory" then "Eagles", or Red Tail Hawks, etc. I don't worry about where the picture was taken but if I did I could further sub classify by "Eagles in Montana".

It works for landscapes and people too.

I don't have a problem finding a specific image because I don't have hundreds of thousands images.

I am now in the process of making books of the best images I have. And for family I am in the process of making books for each family of their family to give to them. I don't think anyone will go through my images after I pass so this is something I can do to leave something of my work behind.

Thanks for the bird ID. I haven't had a chance to look them up you myself.

I've got some great shots with the R7 and 800mm, but they've been more of an exception rather than consistent. And I love the R5 with the 100-500mm.

Yes I too have found the consistency to be a little off with the R7. And while the focus is quite good most of the time sometimes it's disappointing when it says it has locked to find that it didn't really. But no camera or lens is perfect in my budget so it is what it is.
Your bird images were well done with good results.

BTW- Not to be picky but that bird is not a Robin but a Towhee.

I have the Canon R7 with the 600 mm f11 lens and the R6 and 100-500 mm lens. I have gotten good enough images with the former and super images with the latter. However at the end of the day the shot that is closest and requires less cropping is usually the keeper. The R6 is very ISO friendly and gets used in low light conditions. My experience has been the R7 is good for images up to about 3200 ISO. After that the exposure needs to be spot on and minimal cropping required to get a clean shot.

These lenses are not junk and actually I haven't seen reviews that say they are. I have had both the Canon 800mm and 600mm and have gotten very sharp, clear pictures from both that I would not have otherwise been able to capture without a lot of cropping. I am currently using the 600 mm on the R7 and getting equivalent 900 mm focal length which I am unable to get with the Canon RF 100-500 mm lens with extender on the R6.

Is it an L lens? No. I would not take it out in inclement weather and would not want to test the build quality by dropping it. Does the Canon 600 RF lens on the Canon R7 camera produce the same image quality as the Canon 100-500 mm on the R6? No and nothing I have ever owned has. Will it be recognized as a classic lens? Not likely.

But if you live in sunny anywhere it works just fine. And you can't beat the price or the weight and portability.

And your shots just confirm that the lens is a good one. Nice shots
