My camera wants to take a trip to Vermont this fall, October 9-16. I've done a lot of research and I want to see the entire state. That's probably not feasible for a girl with a camera who stops along the road A LOT.
What are some of your favorite spots in Vermont to photograph? I'm also trying to decide on a home base area for the week. Any suggestions?

Only one- make reservations now or bring a tent.

Jerry, after years of paddling and hoisting kayaks onto rooftop racks I sprung for the Thule Hullavator which has made a huge difference on my shoulders as well as in strapping the kayaks in place. This rack is unique in that it will lift and lock a kayak in place with no more effort than one finger. While expensive, over the years it has paid for itself many times over and retains its resale value. Happy paddling.

If side effects concern you check out aspirin or life for that matter. One might include a morbid obsession with our 45th President. Should it prove fatal, R.I.P. for you will find none in this world comrad.

Seven years later- I too have a pink cardinal coming to my feeder in Cecilia, KY these days. It is mid-May and the bird seems to be full grown. Others (8-10) coming to the same feeders are of normal coloration.

I think that the price we are willing to pay to live is directly related to our ability and willingness to adapt to change. Those unable or unwilling, throw in the towel and go home.

It’s a variety of nightshade. We have it here in Indiana, too. As folks have said, it’s poisonous.

Pokeweed. As a four year-old I had my stomach pumped for eating the berries. Forty years later in Arkansas I was served poke salad (boiled young leaves) and found it to be delicious, like spinach.

Impressed with Thomas Ferguson,s skill and tenacity as a builder/stone mason, but also thankful to Gary and Deb Anderson for preserving and presenting this treasure when too many others crumble into ruin. Thank you, Dennis, for the tour.

And neither does the U.S. have an official religion. We do have an official Constitution, although the agenda of some is to disrupt and destroy by calling that into play as well as our history. Diversity is welcome by most Americans, but a cultural c**p is going to fail.

At age 3 a friend and I ate poke berries and had our stomachs pumped out at the hospital. At 43 another friend offered me poke salad she had made. I was extremely reluctant to eat any at first, but eventually did and found it to be delicious (similar to spinach). Disposing of the water from a first boil followed by a second boil and frying with bacon seems to do the trick. Like fiddlehead ferns, morels and wild strawberries, there are some treats in nature that are unbelievably tasty.

Personally, I have seldom found color to be a distraction unless it is unnatural to the subject. Lighting, focus and composition are the key ingredients. Subject matter, timing and uniqueness add interest. While there is beauty in black and white, I find it comparable to a pencil sketch vs an oil or watercolor.
