I tend to agree with you, even though a child might be able to be held up with a stand, it's not likely. The ones that seem real are usually in a casket or laid out on a bed. Thanks for the link.

An older couple in town (he was my history teacher in high school) are downsizing and passing on local historical pictures to our library museum. In the last batch that I received was the attached photo. The lady told me that she was told that this is a post mortem picture. Just wondering if anybody knows more about these than I do. I have seen several before, but it can be tricky. For those wondering, back when getting your picture was expensive this was likely the only photo taken of the person. A lot of them would have the entire family in the picture. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Using the word “organic” is basically a scam, so far as I am concerned, as is the practice of labeling things “gluten free” when there was never a chance in you know where of them possibly having gluten in them. The other day I saw a watermelon labeled gluten free--still trying to figure out how anyone might get wheat flour into a watermelon.

Someone once sent me a picture of bottled water labeled "ORGANIC" and "GLUTEN FREE". I thought he was yanking my chain but he said it was real ( and having known him for years I believe him). It also cost about 3 times as much as the water next to it.

I was in school with a couple of girls whose last name was Fuchs, pronounced as Fox. As another aside, I remember hearing the song, but now I can't remember the rest of it. That line may be running through my head the rest of the day.

Lovely shot, John. Are Windows an unusual feature on these bridges? I don’t remember seeing them before.

It seems to me that most of the covered bridges I've seen (at least here in Indiana ) have windows. There's 5 left in my county (Rush), all have windows.

#23 Years ago as a 1st LT I had to write an after actions report (after 9 years in I had seen some but never written one) I asked a Major who was our advisor how to write a good one. His reply: "write everything down exactly as it happened, as a draft, set it aside until the next day. Reread it and remove all the a-holes and SOB's then rewrite it". I've actually followed that advice to this day.

I didn't know about the bones but I did know about the eyes and Calico cats. Cats are very interesting creatures only a little superior to humans.

Only a little? Not according to them.

Been there, done that ($1.00 hr). Best part was then spreading it out on a field, as long as the wind wasn't at your back.

Uncle moved me twice. Due to some flooring problems in the 1st house (base housing), we were given another exactly 1 block and 1 house away (215 to 317, same street). I tried to convince them to let me take a couple days leave next to a weekend and move. Nope. Mayflower came in with a large truck, packed us up and drove to the new house. 2nd move was from California back to Indiana. Truck was a week late, driver said he had to wait until they got more stuff to fill up the truck, only broke a cheap desk I had.
