.........which is why one should list a descriptive Subject line. As an example -- I would have skipped this one.
General question not specific to this post.....but...... Am I the only one who has a job, and scans the Post's Summary link to know if the daily posts pertains to me? Why is it so difficult to identify what you want to discuss?
Examples: This post -- Difference of what?..........and posts over the years: "Just a coincidence?"........."Eargerly awaiting the Big Brown Truck"............."Can't decide"..........."Did I order the wrong one?"........."Help Please"......."Seeking Heavy Answers"........."I forgot how much I liked".........."Help".................."Frustrated in PA"................."What were they thinking?"............on and on.
Thanks. Now I feel better.
Just raise the arms of the glasses (i.e., over the ears) just a little, and BAM!
Well I'm just back from Fracture. My memory was correct - they do have transparent photos on glass in their lobby. However, they do not offer them to the public.
Too bad because there are some great shots that would work great in the transparent format. Seems like they could print, and then sandwish the image with another sheet of glass.
BTW: If you're ever in Gainesville FL it's very interesting watching their printers at work.
Bob
When I was in their lobby I saw some with backlighting. I think this issue is the standards one with additional coating of white ink covered with black foam board is how they can have a lifetime warranty. Without that, and just the colored photograph's ink is prone to scratching.
I'll get back to the group and let everyone know after lunch.
I'll swing by during lunch, and see if one could get them to do one.
I've used Fracture as well (a play with words "Frame" & "Picture"). They reside in my town (Gainesville, FL) so I have the advantage of just picking them up. They stand behind their work very well. We've filled the floor I work on with Fractures, and I've sold some of my work as well.
Most pictures are printed on the glass, then coated with white ink. However, I've seen some hotair balloon photos without the additional ink so that the photo is displayed more like a stained glass. I'm not sure if they still create the "clear" versions or not so give them a call.
Nice people.
Paynes prarie (La Chua trail specificall) -- Alligators, and wildlife. Not sure if the Sandhill Cranes are still there.
A drive to Cedar Key (~ an hour drive) on the west coast has good sunsets.
Around Lake Alice (on UF campus) has good photo ops.
If you like a personalized Italian resturaunt try Manuels in the heart of downtown. Otherwise, all the chains are here.
I've had this occur in a couple of SpeedLites too. However, I want to point out that isn't a situation where one takes their flash and throws it into a closet. This occurred in mine in about a week's time.
Contact cleaning: I've used a cotton swab dry without anything on it. I like, and will try, the WD-40 comment.
Thanks Capture. What makes night easier than day?
I hadn't thought of that use with sound. Thanks tradio.
Over the years I've seen discussions regarding lightning sensors. I'm wondering what the recommendations are for the latest technology. I've checked B&H, and they look smaller/less expensive. They have movement, sound, light sensors as well. Any UHHers out there with feedback that will help me select a good unit?
I agree with ZEI, except experiment with the background settings and under expose 1; 1.5; 2 stops too. I think you'll like the outcome (i.e., use a meter, or the camera for your initial settings - place camera in Manual mode - and take a shot with those setting, and then bracket down)."
BTW: You can also move the off camera flash closer/farther away to adjust for the human's exposure.
