Do the images taken with your converted body require special editing software or can they be processed in LR and PS?

Seems there are many self proclaimed experts that thrive at finding fault with the work of others that are kind enough to post on this forum. I don't see their work posted here. It is art, folks! Just view, enjoy it and appreciate it for what it is! A beautiful model very nicely presented.

With permission from the OP via PM, and as a collaboration, I edited Tommy's sepia barn to add a bit of texture. I used three different programs to add the subtle changes:

1. Topaz Texture Effects - added a gritty texture, but dialled back to less than 20% when blending
2. Nik Collection: Output Sharpener; Adaptive Sharpening - 28%, Structure - 15%, Local Contrast - 15%, Focus - 15%, then used the Brush Mode and Paint Effect to selectively sharpen the barn, mountain tops, windmill, and fence (not usually a good to idea to sharpen clouds or grass)
3. Smart Photo Editor [Sketch preset], blended at less than 10%, to add a hint of a western sketched drawing.

Tommy’s original version as posted is much better!

Nice shots Bill! I was at Bombay Hook a couple months ago and didn't really see much interesting....maybe just an off day. Thanks for posting.

I have experienced this same problem on two occasions when shooting over ocean water using long focal lengths where the air disturbance rendered my photos unusable. I was photographing ships and lighthouses in Alaska and Nova Scotia, so very cold water and during clear weather and bright sun. Even though the water is very cold it is dark enough to absorb enough heat from the sun to result in air disturbance above the water surface. I highly doubt there is a fix for this problem as the effect on the image is significant. Shooting early morning may solve the problem but as you mentioned it doesn’t solve your timing issue of subject availability.

I own several Sony cameras and wonder why some Hoggers hate the brand? Y’all know who I’m talking about. I remember one poster said “I’d Never buy a camera from a company who used to make toasters!” It’s just something I don’t understand!

Who really gives a rat’s ass what brand of camera that others use? If you are a good photographer you should be able to produce good photos with any brand!

Seems us old farts just like to argue to be noticed.

Here are a few shots I took in Colorado

Nice photo of Crystal Mill. I like your vantage point as I have not seen that side of the mill in past photos from others. Very little water flowing when I was there.

Plan on stopping here on the way home from snowboarding in FL. This was a perfect enticement.

This is an interesting museum and well worth the stop. It is also just across the road from Blackwater Wildlife Refuge.

So how was the snowboarding in Florida?

I have a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens for sale. Bought new and hardly used at all as I use Sony now.
Send me a PM if interested.

Check out the Mindshift 40L backpack to carry a lens like that in the field or for traveling. I can fit my 400 2.8 with a converter and mirrorless camera body attached. Still plenty of room for another body and a couple more lenses plus a few accessories. You can find interior dimensions for the bag on B&H website. With exception of the regional jets, the bag should fit most overhead compartments. Keep in mind a lens like that requires a serious commitment to haul around along with a tripod and gimbal.

Armadillos are notoriously stupid creatures. Their hearing is fair but eye site is poor. Have seen them spooked and take off running and run directly into a fence post or tree, Jump back up and take off again and do the same thing a second time. If your very careful you can sneak up on them from behind, grab em' by the tail and jerk them off the ground. Gotta get their feet off the ground as you can't hold on to them by their body. Never heard that about them drinking water but that long tongue serves them well for catching bugs from their hiding places. It is said they may carry leprosy. I have caught many but stopped when I heard that. Interesting creature none the less. Good capture. Thanks for sharing.
