Keenan, according to Snopes, which I understand lists a bit to port, O did call and congratulate Vlad on his e******n victory.

The gullibility of wingers knows no bounds. No matter how many f**e news stories the right wing lie machine puts out daily, wingers immediately fall for every single one without ever bothering to fact check or verify, embarrassing themselves endlessly.

The latest false story they jumped on is this stupid claim that "Obama called to congratulate Putin's e*******l win in 2012".

There is not a single true thing in the entire statement. Well, ok, there is one thing that is true: Putin won a so-called "e******n" in 2012. But Obama did not congratulate Putin. Nor did Obama call Putin.

Obama responded to Putin's victory in 2012 by giving a belated and terse public statement that "the United States looks forward to working with the president-elect." He did not mention Putin by name, and there was no congratulations, and Obama waited 5 days after the so-called "e******n" to say it. Obama did not call Putin. He put out a simple public statement. No one misunderstood the unmistakably cool and unenthusiastic impression Obama was clearly signaling. The contrast between Obama's tepid, delayed acknowledgement, with Trump's enthusiastic chummy speedy congratulations he gave over the phone to his favorite dictator this instance, calling his buddy immediately after the e******n, and incredibly choosing to not condemn Putin for the unlawful chemical attack only days after they attacked the US's closest ally with illegal chemical weapons, couldn't be more clear.

...in 2012 there was a tremendous amount of hand-wringing over whether President Barack Obama should congratulate Vladimir Putin on his e******n "victory," especially after a campaign in which Putin had been especially belligerent toward the U.S. The New York Times reported that "the Obama administration fiercely debated how to respond to the Russian e******n, with some officials favoring a strong condemnation of the results." In the end, "the White House ultimately settled on a tempered statement, not directly congratulating Mr. Putin but saying 'the United States looks forward to working with the president-elect.'" The statement didn't mention Putin by name and the president waited five days before making the call.

I'd prefer purchasing new batteries. But, that's just my philosophy.

I have a Nikon D3300 Camera with two genuine EN-EL14a Batteries.
I would like another EN-EL14a battery, should I consider used or only New?
I have read that I should NOT use "Off-Brand" batteries due to the possibility they might do damage to my Nikon D3300, but the Genuine Nikon EN-EL14a are so expensive.
Please provide your knowledge on this issue that may help me decide.

These images are beautiful, as is the subject. There's nothing I'd want to do with these other than frame them.

I'm fairly new here. I've spent my photo career (50 years) shooting film then moving to digital in 2005. Shooting mostly landscapes, a few weddings and portaits. With digital I've stayed with Large Fine rarely touching up images, until recently doing that plus RAW.
What I decided is that most awesome images I'm seeing here must be shot RAW then processed via PS/LR or such. I've been to Yosemite, Monument Valley and my images though good (to me) aren't so crisp, detailed, and "bright" as recent published images here, mine being non RAW. I'd really love to see same images before artistic updates, to me many of these awesome images seem more Art, almost like a fine painting versus realistic actual image (I mean beyond calendar quality)

Cricket is actually quite simple to understand.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

And, yes, this actually made sense to me. Any questions?

You'd be surprised at how useful this kind of trivia can be at social events and such. They probably got me laid a few times, back in the early '70's. A couple more I throw out when the conversation drifts to these topics:

1. Baseball is the only sport where...when you are on offense...the other team controls the ball. (I apologize to you UK'ers since Cricket probably qualifies but here in the colonies we can't figure out if it's a sport or some form of fashion show.)

2. On the moon, its day (period of one revolution on axis) is the same as its year (period of orbit around its primary).

Thanks for finding and posting these, Graham.

Thanks, William. The wall itself is quite bright with the colors the artist selected. As for conversion, nope, photographed straight to black and white using 4x5 Ilford FP4+. There were lots of details to be viewed in these paintings. More postings to follow.
